I do not mind OG anime with cute girls but it feels like we have been getting nothing but cute girls doing stuff anime for years. We need more diverse og anime like Space Dandy, Odd taxi and Paranoia agent.

God love you, GoHands. Never change. I won't watch this series because the trailer literally made me a little nauseous, and I'd really rather watch a second season of Masterful Cat, which was way toned down for you guys. That said, your insane refusal to listen to your critics and to instead double down and triple down and then triple down again is weirdly cheering.

Well, it looks like a chaotic Magical Girl anime courtesy of GoHands.

That's what sells and what most people want.

That's what doesn't sell that well, and most people aren't interested in. It's that simple.

I can dig that. I have no intention of ever watching one of their shows, but in an odd way, I'm glad they exist. Nobody else would make the decisions they do, and even if it's for good reason, that arguably gives them value in itself. There's a reason so many film buffs adore Tom Hooper's Cats, and it's not because they consider it "good".

I am GoHands' biggest hater, but this sentiment made me reevaluate how I see them.

I am still their biggest hater, but now I'm cheering them on. Change for no one, GoHands. Always be you for better or for worse. Most definitely for worse, all things considered.

Looks like test footage. I’m assuming this isn’t representative of the final product, but it’s Gohands, so you never know...

As much as I'd love GoHands to do use their skills (because they do have really talented staff!) in a normal anime without CG backgrounds or bizarre camera work or unfitting music, I do respect their refusal to conform even if it would probably be better for them financially to do so... Respect the hustle...

I like the dynamism, but the compositing and background coloring leaves much to be desired.

Well, that was certainly frenetic. I think i understand the action, though i have no idea what their opponent was (besides two legs glimpsed at one point early on).

I can see why GoHands does what they do — that trailer was just one long Itano Circus, and for some, that’s serious animation.

If the audience is allowed to catch their breath, this could be an entertaining show.

Its not diverse enough? I cant say I know or care if the anime I watch is an original but I really find this baffling. There are like 50+ shows that air a season. Looking at Winter 2025 I can see like 3 shows that would fall under the category of cute girls doing stuff. But yes thats all we get in anime these days....If only it wasnt for CGDCT we would finally get the next Space Dandy....

Don't know if that is really fair. The previous commenter didn't say "nearly everything is CGDCT." Said "nearly all the ORIGINAL stuff is CGDCT." So yeah, look at Winter 2025 and you see a ton of stuff, but most of it is continuation series, adaptations, and continuation series of adaptations, including the CGDCT stuff. Very few originals.

Also, a lot of it does seem to be made these days, comparatively. One of my favorite niche studios, PA Works, used to make great variety of original shows. Their adapted stuff still has great variety, like Ya Boy Kongming for example, but lately most of their original output is CGDCT or adjacent. I guess if people on ANN and similar haunts are going to complain about the isekai, fanservice shows and other straightforward shonen (as opposed to subversive ones that not so subtly mock their target audience like Dandadan, whose blanket critical coverage seems to exceed the number of people actually watching it) then there is nothing wrong with CGDCT getting a comparatively few slings and arrows thrown its way too.

That being said, what a previous commenter said was likely correct: had Space Dandy, Paranoi Agent etc. been more successful there would be more like it. I just read the other day how mecha fans hated K-On! because they blamed it for the decline of mecha shows. Some folks - including on ANN apparently - blamed isekai for the decline of shoujo adaptations, only for most shoujo adaptations to be villainess isekai shortly after! So yeah, that is misplaced.
