That was a good first episode. It was made clear when the show takes place, who the new baddies are and we were shown quite a bit of the Demon Realm. Said realm seems to have a lot of magic users and even those three robot looking guys protecting the dragon balls. Add some good looking animation to all that and you have everything needed for a fun adventure in demon land.

Even though I'm not big fan of Goku turning intro a kid especially in GT but I may check this out.
Also, watched trailer I can also hear Lisa Ortiz voices the witch in middle of the clip. (It might be her though.) |

While I also prefer the adult versions of the characters I would place Daima a fair bit above GT quality wise (thus far). Everything has been arranged to make for a fun adventure and I like that it will be a mix of both old and new characters (plus not just the goku show).

Episode 3 and Daima is still going strong. The Demon Realm is interesting, the animation looks good and there is a nice balance between exploring and duking it out. The latter reminded me of Dragon Ball in how zany it was.

As much of a Dragon Ball fan as I am, I've never watched any of the series all the way through. I think I've only seen 2 or 3 random episodes of DB and through part of the Android arc for Z. I did, however, read all the manga for both to get faster pacing and to skip the filler. And I started speed-watching Super for the first time about a week ago (finished up to the fight with Beers, so far). And before that, I'd only seen the four movies. I'll probably be a couple more weeks till I finish Super, then I can start Daima.
I like the idea of this being a soft reboot for the franchise, though. Dragon Ball had some really adventurous stuff and a good sense of humor to it. I'd totally be down with all the characters getting a kind of do-over in the vintage style of DB. |

i personally love that we get Toriyama's final creation instead of it getting stuck in production hell like that final Satoshi Kon film which has its name escape me at the moment.

Another week and another fun addition to the adventure. While I would like a big fight eventually it is very nice to have some relatively calm fun like flying on a giant plant seed and trying a bunch of bugs with weird effects (the fusion and senzu bean like bugs sound rather handy). I wonder how shady Glorio truly is since supreme kai keeps staring him down.
