Congratulations, Hiromu Arakawa! You deserve it. FMA is a great manga, and the very first series I followed from beginning to the latest chapter. I look forward to reading more!

Average sales of about 1.58 million per volume definately isn't anything to scoff at.
Which reminds me, I still need to get volumes 18 and 19. |

Hooray! Picked up my copy of 16 in English yesterday. It was really a disappointing volume in terms of progressing the story, but now that I think back on it, the manga has been so amazing up to this point that a little break from the action can't hurt too bad.
And Kimblee looks good in a suit.

Do you know something I don't, or are you referring to the ridiculously overblown "changed panel" in Volume 8 (I think)? If so, and I was the mangaka, I'd have probably done the same thing. But I don't want to re-raise that argument. I just want to know what you are referring to. Anyway, good job FMA! I'll be heading to the 7-11 tomorrow to pick you up! |

Hoh my god that's a lot. Wow, then again almost every one does know about this manga and it has an intriguing plot so I understand how it's sold a lot....

They sell graphic novels at 7-11s in Japan? That's awesome. |

Mainly they sell the magazines, but with a big title like FMA, they usually stock the graphic novel for the first few weeks that it's out. They also sell reasonably priced DVDs and games (note: reasonable for Japan, not for America). A lot of times they get special releases too. So, for Heroes (American TV) Season 1, 7-11 was able to get just the first disk to sell at a discounted price for those who weren't sure about the show but wanted to check it out. They also were able to get Harry Potter 1-4 for 3,000 yen, which is the normal price for ONE of those movies. And to my knowledge, they are the only ones selling "Death Note: Rewrite" right now, though I haven't been to a DVD store in a little while, so that might not be true. But yeah, it's called a "convenience store" (Japanese: combini) for a reason.
I hope so, but I'm not crossing my fingers. Still, if Evangelion can get a remake, it's not TOTALLY impossible for FMA. |

It has happened before like with Gonzo's Hellsing and Satelight's Hellsing Ultimate. But one thing is for sure Bones FMA was a massive hit and generally well received which things you can't say about Gonzo's Hellsing. |
