Nice, more appointment viewing.

I really hope the staff had more than four months to make this one, though.

I feel silly for never even considering this was an option.

Yeah, it was the same step followed by other Jump franchises like Kimetsu and Jujutsu, so this was the most expected choice.

I wonder what major staff changes there will be. At the very least Nakazono probably won’t be making an appearance, as he’s directing Boukyaku Battery. Sugiyama will definitely be there; he loves CSM too much not to be. I would be irked if they did deviate away from the director’s vision; it was ambitious, I respect it, it wasn’t what I had in mind for CSM and it never grew to be my cup of tea, but it would be disappointing if the studio bowed to the demands of a vocal minority.

I do love the key visual, though, and how colorful it is. I’d like to get a poster of that.

That’s so wild, literally rewatching season 1 with my buddies and have been saying for months that they need to just do the next arc as a movie then finish part 1 with season 2.

I'm excited for more Chainsaw Man but does it really need to be a movie?

Pretty much figured they'd do this for pacing reasons. Looking forward to it.

Here comes Best girl's arc!

A movie sounds just perfect, it wasn't a huge arc so it can easily be covered in a movie.

Would have preferred a season 2. But I guess MAPPA is too booked at the moment. I remember when the show was first announced people speculated it would take 26 TV episodes plus a movie finale to adapt the whole 11 volumes in Part 1, but now who knows what Shueisha will do to finish it up.

Bomb Girl is 13 chapters long and the only place where you could insert a film into Part 1. Makes sense and it is stand-alone-ish so a newcomer could watch it without feeling fully lost. A 1-course S2 will finish out the rest then.

The anime went for a "cinematic" approach with all its might. If the director isn´t kept, or at least his approach, then why even make this? Stick to your guns MAPPA.

Based on the following arcs’ length of the remainder of Part 1 of the manga, yes it did. Season 2 will have an easier time adapting the remainder of Part 1 now.

The arc is definitely the right length to be a movie, and I'm excited for the spectacle. However, I'm not happy with it being a movie. I'm just tired of the "make the next arc of a series a movie" trend. (Partly because when they come stateside they're never in a theater close to me, preventing me from seeing it; usually it's a 2 hour drive, but sometimes it's over 4 hours like for the Love is War movie)

Rumoured for a long time now, but nice to finally get confirmation! Specially since yes, this arc is perfectly short enough to make into a movie and still be room for new content. Also glad they named this "Reze Arc" instead of spoiler[Bomb Girl/Devil Arc] because I feel that name would be too spoilery.

And I'm still holding on to the hope of Yoshihara being the new director, assuming he hasn't already moved to more Black Clover.

Same here; I was scratching my head over what a season 2 would look like, but a film for this part would be perfect.
