On her 34th birthday, May J posted that she has married actor Shogen, who happens to be celebrating his 44th birthday on that same day.

May J, a singer and host of a Japanese music program called J-MELO, posted on her Twitter and Instagram the following statement:

"At this time, I would like to announce that I have registered my marriage with actor Shogen-san, whom I have been dating for some time, on June 20. I will continue to face music, and make efforts everyday to grow as a performer."
