So will this be like Journeys, or will they just be going through Paldea?

Ash/Satoshi was so iconic that it'll be interesting to see how new protagonists go over and how they adapt the game this time around.

I think new protagonists have a good chance to become iconic, popular, and beloved characters in their own right, if they are done well, but more than anything else, they need time.
That said, I do believe that Internet, and social media can, and WILL help them greatly, especially among young people.

Hoping for the latter. Region-hopping is a neat idea in theory, but the execution of it in Journeys was underwhelming...

I feel like they must have some new idea/approach to the adaptation, right? Otherwise why change the formula at all?
Regardless I agree that it will probably help with younger audiences. I doubt anyone really watches Pokemon for the deep lore but if someone were to get into the show and go backwards for some reason... well, there's over 1,000 episodes of Pokemon now, so that's a big ask. Starting with new protagonists is literally a fresh start, a chance for new (and especially younger) viewers to go in knowing they haven't missed an episode.

The fact that they don't show the pendant clearly might mean it's important to the overall story. Kinda like Liko, Roy...eh. Still until we see them acting and see their personality we can't be sure if they will gain the same appeal as Satoshi/Ash. At first glance Roy feels like Goh while Liko feels like Kasumi/Misty (design kinda has the Haruka/May feel a little)
If done right they could get a lot of fans, hope they don't stick to one region but I guess they will at the start until they finish Paldea. Since this is a fresh start(maybe, we don't know how things will unfold) I guess we won't be seeing recurring old characters from older regions (goodbye my sweet hoenn). Also for people watching these new episodes with Ash, there's something that feels like they will be passing the torch or something (I mean, there's an invisible *something* watching Ash)

I am curious what these two protagonists bring in to the table since Ash is no longer the MC. Liko is quite cute.
