Well, silver lining, I don't have to get up as early on Sunday...

Guess I'll have to wait until after I get home from work to watch in that case, but still, can't wait.

It might not affect Crunchyroll.

They aired a compilation episode back in November? Damn. Even now in January there's really not a whole lot of material to compile in the first place, how little was there, then? Just 5 or 6 episodes, or thereabouts, right?

Anyway, man, here's hoping these delays don't have any major long-term affects on production... Gundam series do have a history of just shunting all the problems to the end of the series and then ending messily (Destiny probably being the biggest offender, but it happened noticeably with Wing, too, and arguably began in 1979). Do we know if they're planning to split the series into two halves like they did with Gundam 00?

So far all we know is that they are planning 2 cours with the second half this spring, Witch of Mercury isn't part of the canon timeline ( Universal Century ) which were all 4 cours TV anime or high budget OVA series so while 4 cours can't be rules out with some like Iron-Blooded Orphans and 00 having proved otherwise, i don't think they are planning more than what is already announced with Witch of Mercury.

If anyone has Crunchyroll the episode is up, at least in the United States, and you can watch it, or at least it was up on VRV which is where I get Crunchyroll from.

Looks like it only affected streaming in Japan and not internationally since it was on Crunchyroll in its usual time slot.

I don't know that it's necessary to make distinction w/ UC anime. Pretty much every Gundam series to date has been 4-cours, weighing in at around 50 episodes.

What's worth noting is that the only exception is the prior Gundam series, Reconquista in G, which was only 2-cours. Which I think most fans took as an exception due to it being a "special" series for the anniversary. But if The Witch From Mercury follows suit, with a similarly curtailed final episode count, we may be looking at the "new normal."

Though I wouldn't put it past Sunrise to make shorter shows the new default while also being more open to sequels. It would lower costs generally, and allow tem to more quickly abandon shows that don't take off -- which in theory might mean taking more risks with the IP.
