Oh wow I was expecting Crunchyroll to get this one but wow the AMC funding has been absolutely paying off. Really sending a statement to the Crunchyroll monopoly.

Ehh CR's main priority is obviously securing the "biggest" and "most anticipated" shows like Chainsaw Man or any extremely successful Shonen Jump shows. Those generate the most buzz and discussion and are the biggest subscription generators. If HiDive really wants to get on their level, they need to get something on the level of those which I don't see happening. Urusei Yatsura is big get, but it's definitely not as big as what CR has so far this season.

Netflix has been commissioning a lot of straight-to-Netflix anime like Romantic Killer and recently announced Onmyouji.

I meant licensing.

Dammit, now I need to get Hidive and figure out how to stream it to my tv from my computer (I immensely dislike watching anything on my laptop).

Netflix is better off commissioning their own shows and not participating in the extremely toxic production committee system.

Good thing I resubbed. Shame I can’t seem to cast HIDIVE on my TV. Never seems to work… hate the iOS app too

All that means is Netflix is the production committee system, the only difference I can see is them being the sole contributor(assuming that's how it works on these original titles). And at least with other ones it's just a case of a publication wanting a tie in Manga or a music label wanting one of their singers to do the OP/ED. What sort of stuff do Netflix demand, I wonder.

Imagine if Sentai/HIDIVE licenses the Genshin Impact anime adaptation and completely recasts the English voices using their own talent pool, the reactions and looks on the faces of many anime fans and fans of the game would be so priceless.

Yes yes finally! Now I know where I can watch it, so looking forward to this one.

About HIDIVE itself, I really like some of their lineup, they have Waccha PriMagi! which is excellent, and they aired Tokyo Mew Mew New last season. They also have both seasons of Yumeiro Pâtissière which recently became a favorite of mine. I would not be unhappy if they became known for shoujosei titles (more of which deserve to be “big name,” including the four mentioned here).

I just use hidive.com on my iPad rather than an app, and it works great.

Cool! I was hoping to check this out.

Not sure if it's dub chances are high, but at least I know where to watch it.

Ack, darn it... was hoping that CR would get this so I didn't have to buy a separate subscription for a service I know I won't use outside of this series. Ah well. Gotta do what I gotta do. Will need to see if it's something my husband and I are willing to spring for next month, or wait until the entire series drops and I can buy a sub for a month. Much as I hate that idea, but eh. XP

Please no. CR and HIDIVE are the preferable options.
