They sure outdid themselves with Vanitas considering how frames are identical to panels but it's amazing the second cour managed to adapt the final part of Mikhail's arc since the series faced hiatus due to social distancing issues and the author went back this year to publish the chapters needed to end the arc. Still, due to the author taking another hiatus due to unknown problems, it kinda feels like the anime lacks a sense of closure. I hope the staff makes a movie or OVA similar to how Bungo and Tiger and Bunny had to provide a bigger sense of closure to the main characters.

The fact that Mob Psycho 100 doesn't use any CG is simply staggering. There is literally nothing else out there that looks like it, and it's glorious.

One of my all-time favorite studios.
Looking at the wiki for dates, I think the first one I saw from them was RahXephon, which was great, and then the period he highlighted in the interview I think I was when I got absolutely hooked for life on the studio, ever since around when they did FMA, Eureka Seven, Wolf's Rain, and Scrapped Princess all practically back-to-back somehow. What a lineup and at a huge time in my anime viewing, and then they just kept going with more greatness like Darker Than Black, Soul Eater, etc.

Hell, I remember I was even enjoying some of their more forgotten average in-between shows like Mars Daybreak (in some ways it felt like a more flawed prototype to E7) and Kurau.

Still hoping for a Soul Eater remake someday, like Brotherhood. Smile

Yeah, the animation in Mob is insane. It's crazy to hear that.

I know Masahiko Miname's full name can be found elsewhere, but it seems odd to do an interview with a person without ever once giving their first name in the article. Other than that, it was a good interview. Lol at his focus on robots and explosions. He sounds like he'd be fun to go drinking with. For work, of course.

I want to drill home the point of how amazing and wonderful hand-drawn animation is, but I do have to say that it is incredibly hard and takes so much effort from our staff.

Greatness is never easy. Thank you for not taking the easy route.
