Awesome! Glad to hear it! I am curious as to why Discotek is referring to Rose of Versailles as Lady Oscar, even though they do include the original title. I wonder if it's a reference to the fact that Lady Oscar is the show's official title in France?

Apparently it's a demand from the Japanese company and it was completely non-negotiable. |

Yeah, and before anyone tries to bring up how Right Stuf didn't have to use the "Lady Oscar" title, licensing companies can change their minds on this stuff at any time. When Anime Midstream started releasing Raijin-Oh, the first DVD used the "Zettai Muteki" part of the full title, but by the time the second DVD came out the following year Midstream had to start using "Matchless" instead, because Sunrise changed what the official English title for the anime was, & Midstream had to comply; later prints of the first DVD all use "Matchless". I'm honestly surprised that Discotek is giving the Saint Seiya movies on last attempt, since "Mr. Discotek" himself told me in person that he never wanted to touch anything Saint Seiya (or Masami Kurumada, in general) ever again, because of how badly the movies & Lost Canvas both did. My only guess is that RetroCrush streaming the movies, & probably some prodding from the freelancers that work with Discotek, made him agree to at least put out an HD upgrade for them. This is a rare third chance to show Discotek that there can be interest in Saint Seiya, so I do hope people take advantage of this. |

I too am quite happy that S-CRY-ED is getting a BD release I feel that show is slightly underappreciated. |

Isn't Versailles like 40 episodes?

Presumably they'll release the second half at a later date, just like how Nozomi's releases were structured. |

On the topic of the name change, we're seeing another example right now with the Saint Seiya movies as well since the DVDs didn't have the "Knights of the Zodiac" title either and as a matter of fact, Toei didn't start pushing the use of that as an English subtitle until the Brave Soldiers game in 2013 (released 5 months after those DVDs) and since then, it has been on almost everything from the failed Cinedigm DVDs to the Soul of Gold anime to the Soldiers' Soul game to both anime adaptations on Netflix to the yet to be released live-action movie to now this. As for the movies themselves, of course I'm buying them again. |

Sounds like they couldn't find the dub masters for Mon Colle Knights sadly. Still buying it.

Not me. After the way they "translated"* certain parts of the dialogue in certain episodes of this show, which is a family show, even in Japan. it can stay on Crunchyroll, IMO. Oh, and for the record, I saw all 51 episodes. *See the TV Tropes article "Spice Up the Subtitles" to see what I mean. |

I don't think I'll be double dipping on Rose of Versailles, but I am curious to see how it compares to RightStuf/Nozomi's release

I'm glad for the chance. If ever there was a time for it, it's now. The entire original anime is up subbed and dub, same with The Lost Canvas, they also have the CG series. Viz has the entire manga up digitally. Right here and now is the most Saint Seiya has ever been available in English. Let's show them we want more.
Same, 100% buying them. It's a surprise to see the subtitle drop, but I've never referred to it by that title anyways, so that doesn't bother me. |

Comparison between those DVDs and the Japanese BDs (which Discotek is using): https://fandompost.vbulletin.net/forum/anime-manga-discussions/jp-asian-blu-ray-dvd-and-streaming-industry-news/32354-the-rose-of-versailles-bd-box?p=434090#post434090 |

Kind of reminds me how they licensed the Yamato remake as "Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato." |
