I saw Loudness opening for Keel at the Kabuki. I think it was in '86. |

Jenova is NOT the best song. To me their best material is off the second one. It's heavier, not as much synth wankery. Don't know what the point of the Otherworld remake was. If the point of the project was to do heavy versions of FF songs, and Otherworld is practically a death metal song as it is, why turn it into something that sounds like the Thundercats theme? Yuck. |

The memory is fading but I remenber the Geneshaft opening reminding me of Rage against the machine at the time. The ending theme I realy disliked, bad vocals and as far as the bg music totaly fergot it.
X Japan is a bit too electronic or repetetive for current standards. The first time I herd them I enjoyed their music but...I never realy liked power metal to beggin with, or any popular sub genres of metal in the 80's. |

Do not speak of X Japan unkindly, or ye shall be smote. Fair warning. You know they're doing the theme for Saw IV, right?
More on-topic, San Fran's Testament did an instrumental based on "Urotsukidoji" and even used samples from the Japanese language track. This was back in...'92, I think? And on an older version of their biography pages, some members of Lacuna Coil have said that they're influenced by anime. My buddy Yuuichi, lead singer for Vio System Divide, is a big fan of anime, though he doesn't crib from their storylines to write his lyrics. My favorite Canadian, Devin Townsend, did a side project called "Project E-Ko," though I honestly have no idea whether or not it's related to Project A-Ko. For the person who wanted some Within Temptation in their anime, the German releases of the X TV series used "Mother Earth" as their ED. And somewhat off-topic, the "Taste of Chaos" tour featuring Bullet for My Valentine and Atreyu is also going to have a trio of JRock bands coming with: MUCC, D'espairsray and The Underneath. Super dope! |

You were doing so well until the last paragraph... I figured Testaments Urotsukidoji was based off the anime. It's from 1994, IIRC. I don't remember if I mentioned Animetal, but their a speed metal band that did nothing but anime theme song covers. Find Cruel Angel's Thesis and Moonlight Densetsu. Amazing! |

White Zombie also sampled from Urotsukidoji on the song Welome to Planet Motherf@#er. The Ritual is the last Testament CD I bought. I'll have to pick up Low and check out the song. |

Hey, hey. In my defense, MUCC *did* do the ED for Zombie Loan. I'm gonna have to give myself a mulligan and move on. |
