So there's this big, site-dominating ad right now (Thursday, December 20, 2007) for 'Gurren Lagann' that is ... well ... kinda disturbing. I'm used to some of the sexualized images in many anime series, but this kind of presentation assumes anyone visiting this site is okay with it. And even if I was on a personal basis, it's bordering on NSFW.
Normally I have no qualms about visiting this site while at the office, but now I'm really going to have to think twice about it. What do the rest of you think? I'm no prude, but I'm not about to subject my coworkers to barely contained breasts and anatomically formed crotchgarb. |

I think the picture is great but I totally agree with you. I'd think twice about accessing this site right now from work or any other public place.

I saw it and took note in the talkback section. Apparently you can change skins, as someone did, but I never really knew about that. So go mess with some settings(My ANN Tab -> Skins) and change the background skin if you're anywhere you wouldn't want this to be seen. I think it's a rather awesome picture and at the same time:

My saying this is probably going to piss someone off since those ads probably bring ANN money or something, but if you have Firefox and Adblock Plus you just have to add this line to your filters;
animenewsnetwork.com/stylesheets/gurrenlagann/* Including the '*', and no more big yellow GL ad. |
