Anime music I sleep to.
Well good question. I love YOU from Samurai Champloo. It's relaxing, and its mostly in english. Also from SC theres San Francisco. Which makes me think of walking down a hill in the summer time. (I dunno.)
Fly me to the moon- Utada Hikaru from the new Eva movie. I always think of actually flying to the moon and whole idea makes me tierd.
Several One Piece OST songs:
Ashita wa Kurukara
Believe
Glory -kimi ga iru kara
Shining Ray
I love One Piece. This songs help me dream happy dreams.
Naruto:
Parade
Ryuusei
Soba ni iru Kara
All three are very easy to listen too. I always felt they were a nice contrast to all the violence in that show, and they do their job. I also listen to these three when i'm tense.
Thank You-Bleach.
It's one of those lively rap songs. I can only catch a few words but the translations seem pretty positive.
These songs make for a great night worth of sleep in most cases. Hope that helps.

for me, i could fall asleep to any anime music, but my personal favorite and most effective is the entire Mushi Shi ost. It's so calm, that it'll relax anyone listening to it, my favorites of the soundtrack are "the sore feet song" and "Tsuyu wo Suu Gun"

Back then it was BOYS BE OST that puts me to sleep. I love the entire album be it instrumental or the cute loli singing Minna ga Iine... Right now... I would have to say Mushishi OST...

Oh yes, I love listening to that OST when I want to relax, let alone help me go to sleep.
There are several others that I consider perfect sleep music, but just to name a few:
Haibane Renmei - Nearly on the same level as Mushi-Shi when it comes to relaxing music. Kow Otani's best work in my opinion.
Spirited Away - My favorite Hisaishi OST. Wonderful to sleep to, especially when I put the track entitled "Reprise" on repeat.
Seirei no Morbito - Mostly quiet instrumental pieces. The only Kenji Kawai OST I listen to a regular basis. I'm not particularly fond of his style, but this one is an exception.
I'd also like to mention Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal and Now and Then, Here and There. Those are great also, but there are quite a few louder songs within those OSTs so you'd want to make a playlist of the quiet pieces, rather than playing the entire OST.
I also like to listen to the Monster OSTs when going to bed. Odd, since many of the songs are creepy (not to mention loud). But, in spite of that, it works just as well as (if not better than) many of the quiet anime OSTs I have on my iPod for some reason.

I would check out Kitaro. He's only done a couple songs here and there when it comes to anime. Apparently he did the OP and ED for Ninja Scroll the TV series, though I haven't heard either of those songs. But I do listen to alot of stuff from back in the 80's where it seemed to be his biggest decade. It's all instrumental new age stuff with synthesizers. Very cool. Great for relaxing your mind, or falling asleep to.

I would have to say one of his best works... This genius also is the one responsible for creating musical scores for the amazing game Shadow of the Colossus which I found to be the best game OST ever...
I really like The Opened Way~Battle With the Colossus~ piece, so full of spirit...

Hahaha! That sounds familiar... And I used to fall asleep to that album all the time years ago. Though, ironically, "Winter IV", one of the very soothing main themes tended to wake me up, since I always tended to recall scenes from the anime with that playing.
I'd personally recommend the Red Garden OP theme, Jolly Jolly by JiLL-Decoy association. Actually, if the double A-side single that that song came from (Jolly Jolly/Irony) is any indication, they have a wonderfully jazzy sound that's just so relaxing.
To be honest, though, practically any random bossa nova or jazz works for me.

I was expecting this reply from you because you know where I got the OST from...
Anyway, speaking of trippy jazzy music... another soothing, relaxing album comes to mind and it would be from Samurai Champloo. I really like the R&B ballad "You", her voice never fails to calm me.

Something that I like to listen to is the soundtrack to the MMO EVE-Online. Its got this orchestral ambient industrial feel to it and is very smooth. All the songs sort of blend together when you're trying to relax to it and it wisps away stress.

I'm having Etro Anime as my lullaby right now. Etro Anime is an electronic band and SMT: Digital Devil Saga (I'm inlove with Hitoshura!!! hehe) used one of their song "Danger". Trip Hop music is so cool to listen to specially when you want to sleep...

Really? I've got Houki Boshi on my 'wake up' playlist that comes on when my iPod alarm goes off. I could never put something so upbeat and energetic on while going to sleep o.o

My absolute favorites to sleep to are most of the catalog from Key/Visual Art's. Put on Kanon, Clannad or Air and you're set for a nice restful bit of slumber.
And because there's usually anime and game versions of the OSTs, plus about thirteen billion doujin CDs of same (ReSound Wave comes to mind), there's more than enough music and variety to get you through.
Good times.

I usually fall asleep to the FMA OSTs or the Naruto Shippuden OST, although Final Fantasy and .hack game OSTs are good too.
