This hasn't wrapped up the School Festival arc by any stretch of the imagination. I think there are two more volumes or so before it is completely resolved.

This volume was excellent, I just wish they could have had the full on final battle with Chao! (Although the direction things take at the end is perfect.)
Although I have to admit, the one story-line I'm really interested in is whether or not Konoka and Setsuna will end up as a couple. Set-chan really needs to get over her concerns and just go for it!
There are so many issues raised and new revelations though that it's hard to believe this series isn't based on novels!

Oh, you just wait. The School Festival arc is long (maybe too long?) for a reason.

Angling for a little Yuri action, Richard? Now wouldn't that be interesting! Seriously though, the series has been a fun ride so far, and I look forward to more.

Negima! is one of the few manga series that I've been keeping up with as each new volume is released. Some people call it shallow, but there is so much excitement going on that it's hard to NOT like.

Well, I like Setsuna and don't like Konoka, so I'm probably one of the few that refuses to see these two as a "couple." I like them best just as "close friends." It's not that I really dislike Konoka, she's just at the lower end of my favorite characters (from the 31 girls, that is), and Setsuna is #2.

That's correct. The last two chapters of volume 15 are actually the start of the "Eight Days Later" arc, an arc that gives up an idea of what to expect when it comes to the third day of the Mahora Festival (while also giving the rest of the Mahora mages a chance to have a "moment" before the final battle in this arc actually begins.
As for the School Festival arc, that will not finish until the first three/four chapters of volume 18.

I'm always angling for a little Yuri action.

I like Konoka a fair bit, but mostly I'd like to see it because I think Setsuna would be much happier with that kind of an ending.
I've even got a Konoka/Setsuna wallpaper on my computer!
Setsuna and Evangeline are eternally dueling for my #2 spot, so who occupies #1 on your list? (Ayaka is mine. What is it about class reps?)
And I am waiting breathlessly for the next volume of Negima!, wondering why I can't have one of those Casiopeias (sp?) for my own usage.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. I would like to see Setsuna happy in the end and she does seem to like Konoka very much.

My list begins like so:
1. Chisame Hasegawa
2. Setsuna Sakurazaki
3. Zazie Rainyday (used to be #1 until Chisame became a major part of the story)
4. Evangeline A. K. MacDowell
So we both like Setsuna and Evangeline a lot. I don't remember where Ayaka is on my list. I'll have to go through the characters again.

I'm just glad that they finally finished the Chuunin Exam Mahora Budoukai and moved the story along.

It'll take until chapter 169 (volume 18, I think) before they even have a false start.

That finished two volumes ago, and if you really didn't like it, things are only going to get worse, because the upcoming volumes feature lots and lots of combat. The Negi vs Chao fight is way more over the top than Negi vs Nagi was.
I think people overreact to the Budoukai, only half of those three volumes were spent on fighting, the rest had plot and character development.

Combat is fine, it's just the tournament format that bugged me. But I survived it -- despite my complaining, I'll be sticking with Negima! till the end. My completionist nature and my liking of Akamatsu's grand total of [2] previous manga wouldn't allow any less.

The combat in Negima! is all well-drawn and plotted, but the Mahora Budokai was just a total overdose IMO. Hopefully there'll be room for some more comedy in later volumes now.

I liked the Budokai, especially the Ku Fei fight, which was the best manga fight I've seen in a long time. Negi's fight with Takamachi was also great. The others varied but none were bad. I was quite surprised that Akamatsu could draw such great fight scenes.
