@DuskyPredator
Looks more like a white (Siberian) tiger. Polar bears have more pointy faces. |

Ehh, they are just being vague with the word "beast" for him.

Episode 1:
Well this was interesting. Witches exists in this show as part of the story. We got a non-human character as the male protagonist while Zero is introduced as well. Mercenary is quite a badass imo. I thought Mercenary and Zero's meeting is hilarious. Zero is a somewhat interesting character. She has a big appetite but at the same time, she can see through Mercenary's "human face", which kinda interesting as it shows that she has unique abilities as a witch. I think from here, they can develop their relationship further. Overall, decent start. I also kinda like Zero/Mercenary's character chemistry with the teasing coming from Zero. |

I thought that this would be more childish, but seeing him hold a severed head of a bandit who killed his family while he is covered in their blood has kind of changed expectations. Still not entirely sure where it stands on the line of being generally friendly and fun, and being pretty scary, and in the middle having a distinction for things like sorcery and magic.
Well it has me interested so far. |

The formula overall is stock, however the casting is an intriguing mix as our named-for-there-occupation cast of Mercenary and the titular Zero already kick it off strong.
What we might find later is that Mercenary may find his curse his strength, otherwise he would have more than likely been long dead by bandits or killed by amoral magic wielders. Zero seems is built up as a sort of prodigy that is on the cusp of creating a new era of "magic" having (according to her) literally written up a book that has teachings on how to short cut casting spells. Mercenary seems to be a cowardly lion sort who will only really strike out if pushed into a corner, he is shown to be an able fighter having been forced to out of necessity but just as well it isn't something he enjoys. Zero seems to be a little off but not enough in this episode to pin her character down just yet, we simply have to take her word at face value that the blood contract was in fact real and not her being duplicitous fooling what amounts to a country bumpkin in wear tiger form. |

Oh yes, I'm sensing potential for greatness here. I love everything about this so far. I like the sleeping scene the most. "I NEED MY WARM FLUFFY FLUFFY....." rofl |

Episode 2:
Haha, Mercenery got called gramps by that Albus kid. Priceless. It's too bad witches are treated like monsters (like Sorena) during the past and probably still in the present. The misunderstandings are unreal.... Seriously though, they need to fix their world. On the other hand, I continuously find the character chemistry between Zero and Mercenery to be cute with their little moments. I want to see more of Zero's past. |

No one right side, where both have a good reasoning in their minds to distrust the other side, and all out of revenge.
For the broader story it reminds me personally of time in Dragon Age Inquisition, the games in general were all about kind of a war between magic and the church, and revenge getting things out of hand until you have two warring sides. I am liking this more and more. |

ALBUS (DUMBLEDORE) YOUR FOOLISHNESS ALMOST GOT EVERYONE KILLED.
What else is new? You're cute, so I'll forgive you though. So...Sorena was a pretty awesome witch; powerful and sweet-hearted. I felt sad to see the cruel fate that she didn't deserve. It instantly reminded me of Jeanne'D Arc. I definitely like this show. The OP is okay. I expect it to grow on me. Can't get enough of that ED though. I'm never gonna skip that thing. |
