Ok if you haven't seen Tekkon Kinkreet yet this is a must see. the imagery just blew my mind. the story is so complex but you know just what is going on. then mixture of the different art styles creates another world of animation. this is not a rent but this is a buy. when Eric Nakamura of Giant Robot Magazine said "One of The Best Anime Movies Ever" he wasn't kidding. if you have any thing to add about this movie please do. and if you have any questions of where to buy it also ask.

[EDIT: Changed your title to make more sense, deleted all 14 smilies. -TK]

it was up and down for me. the first half was really good (movements remind me of Naruto), but then after spoiler[his brother(?) got taken], the plot just got more and more confusing to the point where it made no sense at all. also the ending was a HUGE disappointment. spoiler[what happened to them saving the city? they didn't resolve anything at all.]

I saw an add for the movie and was immediately intrigued. I'd also like to read the manga if I can find it. Both are going on my to-do list.

the basic story is you have the two main characters Black and White. who are orphans. they live in a place called treasure town. thought out the story they and the people around them are constantly dealing with the yakuza, and a evil man named snake. but when black and white split up black will discover his own demons he has to deal with.

i'm not the best at giving synopsis's i hope this helped

but the the art styes used are Cg, Hand drawings, and even water color.

The movie is rated R, yet it has such whimsical and kid-friendly looking cover art. *sigh*

Although I haven't read the manga, I went to watch the movie with very, very high hopes for it (due to the Internet buzz over its animation and American director) - only to be greatly disappointed afterwards.
In short I thought it was rubbish and I believe ANN's review of it describes everything I thought was wrong with it (and the only thing it did right) more eloquently than I can.

I was able to pick this title up at the local supermarket. They don't carry anime, except for maybe a Ghibli product. But a read a review somewhere, that made me somewhat hesitant to rent the DVD.

I did enjoy watching the movie. It didn't have too much angst and psycho-babble to make it a chore to watch. And at the ending, well, it didn't have what seems to be to me, the usual windswept drama that goes with a lot of anime films. Instead it had a more watercolor feel to it, it really made the mood different to me, from other anime films. I don't know how they used cel paint to achieve the feel of watercolors, but it looked good.
