Just a quick heads up, Final Fantasy XV didn't come out on Xbox 360 like it says in the article, but that's a small oversight.
Besides that, I'm really happy as this game is ushering in old and new fans alike, though maybe not on the scale of other triple A releases that it seemed Square Enix were trying to compete with. I heard that with all the costs, it would take 10 million copies to break even due to the lengthy development cycle, and I'm pretty sure long term it will do just that, especially if there's an eventual PC release. 6 hours in myself and taking it slowly. Really enjoying the game so far! |

I'd love to know the ratio of PS4 vs. XB1 sales. The MS machines never get good Japanese game sales, and this is pretty much the highest profile one that's going to get released on the system. If it actually got a good chunk of that 5 mil., it might inspire some confidence to port more titles to it. Maybe even SE and MS will finally work out their differences to get FFXIV on the system.

Good, but a little inflated due to Square putting shipments and actual sales all in one go.

RIP Glad that it went succesful not with all those beta gameplay spoilers that IGN and TGS has been posting, I swear It almost made me unsubscribe. I dont have P4/Pro but I've seen the gameplay through livestreams, it's good and its a huge leap from its old predecessors. Tho Nomura's original versus FF13-Versus imo has a better plot(no more Stella), the remake ruined the modern-gothic fantasy like setting(I was actually dying for a modern version summon of bahamut)... But still.. I cant deny that the UI and gameplay flow are much improved |

I doubt it, at least for now. To get FF14 for XboxOne would crossplay cross play between PS4/PC/XboxOne and Sony has been pretty mum about if they are actually willing to allow crossplay between PS4 and XboxOne. |

It not coming to XB1 was a problem long before MS was pushing for crossplay and there's never been any indication from SE that Sony has anything to do with it. |

Not surprised, looking that is on of the rare games, that were worth the hype.
Only, shame, that such a beautiful game is held back by console hardware. |

Just a heads up, but Final Fantasy XV didn't 'sell' sell five million copies on it's first day. The release from Square Enix said it shipped five million, which is a huge difference as that includes every copy they sent out to retailers. The actual number of sales is likely considerably less, though I do believe the actual numbers should be pretty good.

Looks like it needs to sell 10 mil to return a profit http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/03/31/final-fantasy-15-needs-to-sell-10-million-copies-to-succeed so 5 more mil to go!

That's not exactly true. 10 million is just the development team's personal goal. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/final-fantasy-15-director-clarifies-10-million-sal/1100-6436227/ |

I'll admit five million is impressive for the first day sales. Though I wonder if atleast part of this is because of Conan's review.
