Learned the news three days ago and was waiting to see if there's any other user would submit it. Turned out two users submitted it as a regular TV series instead of a special.
Question to whoever knows more about this title: which previous HaruToki title should I link it to, and by what relationship? TIA. |

Monochrome Factor is a lot of fun, and I'm excited to see it get animated. It should appeal to Bleach fans, and it's got a D.N.Angely possession thing. (The manga comes out in January--I've enjoyed working on it.)

When it was first announced I assumed it would be a whole TV series instead of a special (I hope it at least sprouts into a TV series.. there's no way they can cram the whole story into a short special) since it was going to air on TV instead of direct to video or theater. Oh well, a special is better than nothing~ And as for how to link it to related series, it's part of the Haruka universe, but is not a direct sequel to any previous Haruka productions. The only connection is that it takes place in the same fictional world (only many years after the other series, so it's sort of like all of the characters were re-incarnated... so the characters look slightly similar to their past versions and have the same voice actors, but other than that they're completely different). Same country, same priestess+guardians system, but different time/characters/story. Other related Haruka productions are: Haruka 1 manga Haruka 1 TV series (Hachiyoushou) Haruka 1 OVAs (multiple ones..) Haruka 1 movie Haruka 2 OVA And something Haruka related that was just announced (not in the ANN encyclopedia yet... if it has a place to be in it at all): http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/neoromance/maihitoyo/stage/index.htm ^ Apparently Haruka 1 is being adapted into a live-action stage performance in 2008. Haruka everywhere. (and the newest volume of Shoujo Beat has the first chapter of Haruka in English, along with hints that Viz has licensed the Hachiyoushou TV series and is considering picking up the video game that started it all, too...) |

I swear the manga licensees work with the anime licensees. When they announced it at Comic-con(the manga) I was hoping it would lead to the anime. I was also suspicious of the reaction the Viz panel had on Gintama, so if they announce that one, I won't be shocked.
