Good, he should restart with Games. If he still has the "Grove" with them and still loves to create Worlds and telling Stories (and the Game sold well), then perhaps he can dream of bigger goals.
First thing first, the "money" to keep living on
Mecha? New Franchise? Want to tell a action Story? Old generation helps the new generation to live on?
Perhaps he should knock on "Knights of Sidonia" Manga-kas door (and Company), and ask if he are allowed to create "Sidonia: The Next Generation" as an Game with Story, love and Action fights
(Inspiration "Homeworld" on PC)
Good Luck

Kojima has no time to feel sorry for himself, he's got things to do, places to be. Good luck to him

Remember guys, he was also in talks with Junji Ito. I'm just not sure I'd be willing to play whatever came out of this... still want to live some more years before a heart condition.

Yeah, he's coming out of this incredibly well. Between his announcement of collaboration with Sony and him working with Guillermo del Toro, he's effectively given Konami the middle finger and made them look worse with no effort at all.

Hmm wounder what type of state Z.O.E is in from a IP perspective, would love to see him try a reboot of that series again.

The success of Sony's partnership with Kojima hinges on how much freedom they are going to give him in terms of what he can create. I do want to believe that Sony will give him the degree of freedom he needs, but I also worry that they might want to shove their hand a bit too far into his work.
Please, Sony, let him do his thing. We may never have another Kojima in our lifetime.

It's funny that someone on a YT channel was talking about this last week and then it happened.
News travels fast.

Del Toro has wanted to do At The Mountains of Madness for a long time. It would be awesome for the collaboration to do something lovecraftian or inspired by it, since they won't be able to use Silent Hill-- aspects of the original Silent Hill were already lovecraftian.

He is a role model to us all. I hope people who aren't even fans who have been inspired by his arts of rebellion go out of their way to pick up his future games.
