I mean, I know everyone's tired of bleach at this point, but I'm surprised Aizen didn't make it onto the list.
I also feel that naraku from inuyasha also deserves at least an honerable mention. |

Yeah, that guy... When i think of villains that are so -whatever-he-is-, yeah. hard to put into words that guy. He's the most Something, of his extreme despicableness. Andrew Fork being on the list entertains, as even before he becomes a mental mess he ranked pretty high up there on people that manipulated the system for self-gain. If you split the fleet at Amlitzer, you're gonna have a bad time. |

I'd say Gendo in Evangelion has my vote. He's a thoroughly detestable human being interested in playing not only the military or his organization, but the entire universe, just to meet his own selfish desires. From beginning to end, he's just a scumbag.
Personal runner-ups would have to include Kira from JoJo Part IV, The Count from Castle of Cagliostro, and the anti-bear (thinly-veiled homophobic army) army in Yurikuma Arashi. Oh, and the bad guys from Macross 7. They just needed to listen to Nekki's song! |

Echoing the question of where is Griffith in this list. Shou Tucker and Envy from FMA would also be reasonable. Or the Major from Hellsing Ultimate. I agree with Dio and Kyubey, though. Haven't seen many of the other ones, but the list seems a bit lacking.

Medusa from Soul Eater. Not much of a fan for the show, but she was pretty evil, and made it very enjoyable.

Interesting...I wish there were more entries. Surely the anime catalog is vast enough to include at least a dozen classic baddies. From the comments I am seeing some good additions, and I would contribute the Sanjiyan Prince, and half the cast from Elfen Lied. Maybe two-thirds, automatically including every character over the age of thirty and anyone affiliated with medical or militaristic professions.

I mean, I never expect anything Revolutionary Girl Utena related, but Akio Ohtori absence is still a travesty... But really? No Ragyo Kiryuin??
I agree with who ever said this list was 'meh'. |

That's a good list, though I feel some characters like Johan Liebert, Griffith from Berserk, and Shishio Makoto/Yukishiro Enishi should have been on there. Unlike villains like, say, Aizen or Madara, the villains on that list are despicable and evil, but we're never annoyed or bored by them. A villain without presence ruins a series.

Pretty much seconding Johan Liebert (partially because he's based in real-life psychology, which makes his semi-plausible existence even scarier) and Akio Ohtori, for generally being pond scum.
Though now that I think on it, Akio and Johan seem to have a lot in common. |
