I have recently become appaled at the lack of peoples ability to pronounce japanese names with a "..suke" included correctly.
The proper pronunciation is "sske" as in Sanosuke, from Rurouni Kenshin. I keep hearing people pronouncing it "sah-no-su-ke"
I dont know about anyone else, but im quite annoyed.

I don't - after all, I'm not Japanese at all, and had no idea how to pronounce some names and such when I first started to read manga or watch anime. Over time I learned, yeah, but it's not like it's common knowledge.

Pfft... people have been mispronouncing my name for so long, I could give a damn less if they mispronounce someone elses....

But it does irritate me listening to sportscasters and the like mangling Japanese names.... they get paid plenty enough to pronounce peoples names right....

Eh, it doesn't bother me. I used to do that myself. We're not Japanese and don't know. No need to get annoyed with it.

Well, i'm learning Japanese. Confused I know no one cares but I'm great at pronunciation. Just remember in japanese the syllables are roughly the same length.

I can understand if people don't really know how to pronounce the names because they don't know anything about japanese, but if its misprounce in an anime or if someone tells them how to pronounce and they always misprounce it, it annoys me alittle.

Don't you think that you are being a little harsh about it? I bet Japanese people have just as hard of time pronouncing some of our words. But we don't hear about kids making fun of them.

littlegreenwolf, same here. LoL
