Not surprising really.
After watching Love Live for the first time I can see why it ranks among the top 5.

You know that the majority of its sales happened in 2014, right?
Some 600k BD discs or so.

After watching it I don't get how it attracted so many people... Average, at best.

The survey was done from December 8th 2014 to June 7th 2015; that would mean, per your claim, that in a single month there was an explosive rise in sales, followed by a drop-off in consumers.

Could you elaborate?
All i know is that final Love Live second season bd volume (7) came out 25 December 2014 with that volume reflected on the list. checking back sales for the previous 6 volumes that do not count for the list, what the guy said about 600k total is pretty plausible.
Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant btw.

No. The point is that the Love Live BD discs came out before that. The first volume alone sold 120k+ discs, so what you are getting now is only the last volume, and the tail of its disc sales.

Amazing sales for Love Live! as usual. The movie could be a huge seller when it gets a BR relrase!

MAL and ANN did not post this, but Oricon Youtaiju also released a new list for the half-yearly ranking. It is an anime series ranking... where we know Love Live! 2nd Season Vol.7 sold 70,194 for the half-yearly ranking. Thus we can deduce that the previous volumes (Vol.1~6) residual sales for the half-yearly ranking was a combined 27,957, which is a pretty amazing sales tail.
