I saw the first picture they showed in it before, but... Ahhh! Moving castle! Animation! Ahhhhh! *fangirls*
It'll be awesome if he wins an academy award every year he has a movie out. He should now that Disney isn't doing animated features anymore... other then the 3D pixar things. |

It's based on the novel by Diana Wynne Jones. Here is a link to a plot summary.

Wow. What a sumptuous, marvelous piece of animation.
Too bad it's a total TEASE. Show us some character animation, Ghibli!!! Please? I'll be your bestest friend. |

I don't know about that. Most critics outside of the Las Vegas Film Critics Society missed the inherent "Better-than-Spirited-Away-ness" of Lilo & Stitch somehow, but, if Howl's Moving Castle gets released State-side in 2004, it will be up against much tougher competition than what Spirited Away faced: Pixar's The Incredibles, a double-dose of Dreamworks/Pacific Data in the form of Shrek 2 and Sharkslayer, Disney's own Home on the Range which looks to be funnier than The Emperor's New Groove, aaaannnnndddd... the spectacular-looking Polar Express, which, if the rest of the film looks as good as the trailer, will be a formidable opponent. |

I've read the book Howl's Moving Castle(I highly request reading), and bellive me that is NOT the castle I have read. It's more castle LOOKING and has four towers, yet the inside is no bigger than a small two-story house. However I would very much like to see this

When Miyazaki creates an anime adapted from a novel he does a lot of adapting. In otherwords, his movies are loosely based on their namesake. He has always done this and I'm pretty certain that the original author of Howl was aware of this when she signed the contract. So although you've read the book (I haven't), you can look forward to something completely new in the anime. -t |

I read an interview with the author, and she's accepted that there will be many changes, but she says she loves Miyazaki's work, and can't wait to see his interpretation. |
