Denki-gai no Honya-san (TV) Genres: comedy, slice of life Plot Summary: Umanohone (Horse Bone) is a comic book store in the electronics district. The story follows the lives of the workers at the store as well as their colorful customers, all of whom are hardcore fans of one genre or another. Preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=meLiPx5WiKo ---------------------------------- The first 10 minutes are out now as a pre-air. It was a funny spoiler[watch so far with the stuff going on at the store. Some of the characters got a bit uncomfortable though LOL especially when one of them saw a half naked guy in the comic.] Anyways, I thought it was an amusing watch so far and I hope the second half will live up its promise. Oh spoiler[and can't forget the ero-comic ] |

That was a pretty funny episode. It reminded me of Working!!. I liked how the 3 potential couples were already established.

I kept waiting to... I don't know. Laugh? Chuckle? Smile? Feel... something?

Pretty much this. The comedy is rather dry and unoriginal but it's characters are cute enough to fill that "moe" itch which will allow me to silently follow it . |

I liked it. Nothing earth-shattering, but it gave me a few larfs. I kinda have a soft spot for workplace comedies for some reason.

I find that ED song to be pretty catchy. Anyways, it won't be a top show of the season for me but could be fun to watch on occasions.

Episode 1
Felt like there was a lot fit into this one episode. We have had the working lives at a restaurant, working lives at a government office, and now we have working lives at a bookstore, especially with ero books. Personally I really liked the first episode, it clicked with me pretty well since I have a history of liking similar workforce anime, and the moe elements. I do think it is a little unnecessary for most of the girls to be so loli like, you would think it was kids running a bookstore with adult material. A random thought, it feels like it has been a while since Yuu Kobayashi has done something with her signature yelling, it is times like when she is doing the G man here and getting loud that she just shines. |

Nothing spectacular, but cute enough and funny enough that I could see myself sticking around for the rest. I do like the characters, too.

Episode 2
So Fu girl is kind of odd. I like how she was speaking. |

Fu Girl rules. She swears like a trooper, likes zombies and likes to party. But yeah, looking eight when you're 16 is a little freaky.

Ditto. It's not bad, just too mild, shallow and inoffensive for my taste. It's like someone took Genshiken and kept sanding off all the rough edges and personality until all that is left is a perfectly round, shiny moeblob. Still, I did laugh a few time (Sommelier Party) and the budding romance between Umio and Sensei was cute (if a bit too safe), so I'll watch a few more episodes. |

Personally, I hope they're animating far enough to see the results of the budding Sommelier/Fu girl romance.

Okay, Denki-gai, you got me. I was still somewhat unsure if I'd enjoy this series enough to watch the whole thing after just the first episode, but I found the second episode to be much funnier. And Hio-tan is really cute (and so is Sommelier, in his own way). Will be watching the rest.
