I dropped this midway through the third episode. Oh well, still three more announcements to be made this week.

last time on "Sentai grabs more crap!", Sentai grabs the worst ecchi anime of 2014!

You're right, it is doing a piss poor job at being ecchi. I wanted Ladies Versus Butlers, not K-On. |

what I want to know is, how does this hint: "4 SHOULD do the trick, but it takes 5 to do it right" = licensing Super Sonico?

Ya got me. Maybe it takes five fingers to do, you know, "it" right? <--insert shruggy shoulders emotion here. |

Sentai licensing niche shows like this that nobody's going to spend money on, then shipping them to major retailers like Best Buy... this is the kind of stuff ADV pulled, and we saw what happened to industry after they and Geneon fell. Let's try to avoid this happening again, please.
Or, y'know, you could license every moeblob show to hit the airwaves. That works too. |

Apollo I'd like to have your Best Buy here, ours only has Funimation boxed sets at $high and Viz titles. Nothing Sentai at all, haven't in about a year. I suspect that titles like this sell well enough to keep the lights turned on. Mark Gosdin |

Not so sure about the "nobody's going to spend money on", frankly I will probably buy it, even if they seem to be phoning in the fanservice. I really hope there are specials. Sentai may have gotten the license for a song or split it with other English licensees.
The real issue is how much they spent for the license and how much they might spend on a dub if they even dub it (probably paying the VA's with sandwiches if the effort on their other recent dubs are any indication). They did dub Shiny Bread, I mean Shining Hearts. Bought it and somehow kinda enjoyed it. I do like bread though. And does Best Buy actually matter anymore? |

If you look at the publisher on Crunchyroll, it really shouldn't be much of a surprise. Showgate tends to get their titles to either FUNi (those usually aren't streamed on Crunchyroll, though this season has No-rin for the French and German regions only) or Sentai. There are a few exceptions, like StB and Arpeggio from last season still not licensed, and NagiAsu went to NISA.

Hopefully that weird and stupid clue they gave out means they'll be announcing five licenses… they usually go from worst to best in terms of order, with two pretty bad shows announced so far.
I'm just hoping for Sakura Trick |
