Looks pretty impressive, actually. I wonder if it'll be able to do that thing where the chair kind of slides up to the neck. Patlabor's never very consistent as to whether the Labors can be piloted that way or you have to be all the way down into the chest.

I think it's pretty cool that Shigeru Chiba is actually playing the same role in the live-action film as he did in the anime.

What do you mean it has never been consistent ? Confused
The OVA's, TV series and films make it pretty clear that you can pilot the labor either completely inside the cockpit (where you rely esclusively on electronic sensors) to do your business or with your head stuck out and you rely also on human sensors (vision and hearing).
You have 2 choices and each one has its advantages and disadvantages.

Rats, I was going to say the same thing.

Pretty spiffy cockpit. Thought the still of the Kuratas holding the person upside down by the leg was pretty funny. That and the person with the megaphone holding his hands over his ears as the Ingram is about to fire the revolver. Very much the style of humour in the series.
