The dub only went up to 52 since that's all that was based on the books. The ending 13 episodes were just made up by the Japanese studio. |

Man, this was relatively disappointing as a fan of the books.
The fact they only covered the fist set of the novels and didn't get to the good stuff like Dragons or Shadowlands was kind of frustrating because I was really hoping they would. Otherwise, the quality range from meh to decent on a frequent scale jumping between. Kinda hope both tracks are included as I want to see Ayahi Takagaki's first major role in its completion though I'm doubting that's going to be the case, given the Digimon releases and what not. |

Yeah, there's some small errors with the article. The anime ran for 65 episodes, but only 52 were released internationally.
Geneon did license the show in 2007, but they never released it. Dentsu set up a new subsidiary called DCI-LA (now Dentsu Entertainment USA) in the US, and that became their first property. Oh, and "will released" for the manga part. |

Yes I believe the added 13 episodes was made for Japan because the series was very popular in Japan. |

I might give this one a shot. I read a few of the books as a kid, and I thought the character designs were appealing. My only worry is that I looked up the dub to check the quality on youtube, and all the episodes were fullscreen instead of wide, so I don't know if it was cropped that way or just crappy uploads.
Judging by what little I saw, I wouldn't turn down Japanese audio either, but that wouldn't make or break it for me. |

Man talk about the person who hasn't been seen in a dogs age. Man I remember when Geneon was supposed to release this. So who is Cinedigm? Are they new?

No, they've been around for quite a while. However, they're a general DVD release group, not typically an anime one. It's only within the past two years that they started delving into releasing anime previously held by other companies. They've been releasing boxsets for Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh, and recently license-rescued Zatch Bell and Saint Seiya. That being said, was Deltora Quest's dub even uncut? That's the only way this will be bilingual. Saint Seiya is presently their only bilingual anime release, and that's primarily because it had an uncut dub. After the lack of plans to release uncut Digimon sets, despite the first two series already having complete subs on Netflix, I've given up hope that Cinedigm/New Video Group will grant that to any other edited-only series. |

Where's your proof that NVG/Cinedigm's Seiya release is bilingual? Outside of Amazon's listing, which isn't even accepting pre-orders, everywhere else is still saying dub-only. Oddly enough, though, NVG's website still doesn't have any listing for Seiya, so we still can't verify if the original Japanese language is being kept. |

There didn't seem to be much cut from the dub, after comparing a few English and Japanese episodes side by side. I noticed only one scene in an early episode, which involved a human character getting impaled by a demon. |

Considering that listing has said that for a few months without NVG telling them otherwise, I just assumed that it was probably correct. Wasn't trying to make it out to be definitive proof, just that it's more likely they'll release an anime with a Japanese track if the corresponding dub was uncut. |

Ah thanks for that info. I'd never heard of them but then again I may have in passing. But good to know that this is getting a release finally. It's been so long with so many disappointed fans. |

As Hagaren Viper said, I quite liked the designs too.
I'm pretty sure I'll end up buying this when it goes up and eventually re-watch it. It was pretty basic but I enjoyed it when they showed it on the Hub. I thought the the voices were quite good especially for the three leads. All three leads were really likable (I'd say Jasmine probably ended up my favorite) and it was fun watching them in action as well as watching them figuring out how to solve various situations. |
