Hi. Don't know where to share this. Recently started watching Accel World and HOLYSHIT I got to episode 2 and the part where Black Lotus was talking to Hiro and the background music REALLY reminded me of something. Pandemic 2 is an online game where you can play as a virus, it is basically a strategy game. Also, am is it me that is paranoid that I can't seem to find an Accel World episode 2 part 1? Only part 2? It looks like Part 1 was deleted due to copyright or whatever, this video is the only one remaining. I also can't seem to find this one track used in this scene in any of the OST albums. Did Accel world copy OST from a online virus game from 2004 or am I an idiot and this music sample is actually widely used? Wow. Like 4 or 5 of the same notes. That's crazy.
Check out 3:28 of this and see if you can think of an Oscar-nominated theme song that sounds quite similar (and then guess which was published first). But of course, copying/sampling music has always been a mainstay for composers throughout time. Still, you're living up to the 'derp' name by making this thread for 4 or 5 shared notes. |

I suck at music, so every time somebody posts a "this song sounds exactly like this other song" thread I agree completely. Coming from a guy who can't read sheet music and can't whistle or hum in tune, they sound like the same song.

I suck at this game. Is it Pirates of the Caribbean? 
Anyway, there are a lot of shitty things about Accel World, complaining about a minor [?] musical rip-off or whatever seems very petty compared to all the other terrible stuff in the show. |

There's millions of songs and only so many notes out there, you're going to get songs that have similar sounds. I can't say that this definitely represents copying.
