Quick, Oshii, think up some generic platitudes about Japan. And... go!

I was hoping that interview would lend insite into why 2nd Gig was so screwed up, it didn't.
Really WTF was up with that interview?

Oshii has nothing to do with SAC.

How do you mean that? I thought that for something Oshii worked on 2nd Gig was pretty "normal."

I'm pretty sure Oshii really only passed on the concept of what 2nd GIG should be about (which... I have to say... no matter how I look at it... is really REALLY similar, in some cases, to Patlabor 2); it's pretty much all Kenji Kamiyama beyond that (from what I remember of the interviews).
But yeah... cool... nice to know that he hasn't quit animation yet (assuming that this thing he has with IG going on is another anime movie) as Innocence is still one of my favorite anime movies.
But man... the interview was pretty weird... and he takes a surprisingly vehement stance against animal violence; and here I was thinking how cool it would be to punt a pigeon on my way to school (I kid, I kid).

He was more involved with 2nd Gig then SAC. But I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who sees the similarities between Patlabor and SAC.
Oh well I guess I'm just venting a little, SAC was good, 2nd Gig not so much.
