So clue #8 wasn't about the lifespan of a cicada?

Apparently not. I just hope that next time the extremely obvious clues are saved until later. *cough*#2*cough* It made most of the clues pretty much pointless. I have to admit that the clue with the picture of the cicada was very amusing though, as was the final clue.
EDIT: Congrats to the winners!

Does that mean there's an official romanization of the title? Because the Japanese has no spaces between any of the words, so it's just a matter of who's writing out the translation.

Ni is a seperate word. It's a particle. I consider particles to be seperate words. It's been Koro Ni most places I've seen it though. I never use Koroni. I find it too squished.
My one pet peeve is that they'll only be saying "Higurashi" and not "Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni" with the red "Na". This probably means the red Na will not be known to many people. It is significant, or so we've been told. Some speculate that it's just the creator putting it in for himself (07 = Rei + Na(na)=Rena's real name for example).

I got the answer after the second clue (from only watching two episodes of the series, for some reason I was still sure I was right) and I guess in my excitedness I forgot to include my city, state and ZIP code which I realized a day or two later. I mean, I'm sure I'm not the only one who did that, but I also entered a friend and forgot about all the same stuff... so it COULD have been just me

Meh, who cares about who won? It's not like the winner was promised one of the Limited Release volume 1 boxes...
Nonetheless, I agree that you guys should not give away such clear clues at the beginning... And make it so that two of the following things happen:
1. The clues should be SO specific and vague that only people who actually CARE about the series would know the answer
2. Have crowd control ready to take care of those who desire to ruin the contest, I.E. don't let the info get out of the site and don't have thread discussions. It's a contest, those who know and deserve to win will, not the idiots who cheat to figure out the answer or don't actually find out on their own.
And Hoenheim, I'm pretty sure the first seven winners got it from the first clue. By the time the second clue came out, I can bet that maybe ONE person was included... If any were.
Nonetheless, the guessing is over and that is that... I just want release dates so I can go ahead and reserve my boxset.

*scratches head*
If the contest was open to residents of the United States and Canada, that little bit from the fine print might have misled a lot of people into thinking they were not eligible to enter.
Also, Geneon already provided a release date for volume 1 in the license announcement on ANN. It's June 5th.

I was so excited! I entered the correct title less than 2 hours after the first clue was given, so I thought I had a chance of winning! But I didn't, so I guess all the winners must have guessed the title sooner than that which is pretty amazing!

The release date should be June 25th or June 18th, that would be nice and ominous...^^
But stilll, this'll be very interesting to see how Geneon does with the dub! Congrats to the winners!

Hmm, too bad I didn't get to it fast enough, but I'm still glad I was able to guess it right. Congratulations to the winners

Not only is it too squished, it's being inconsistent. Why should the の get its own separate "word" while に didn't? I hope they have a good explanation for this...
