It is possible that they would be making another Final Fantasy movie, and the one that they made was awesome.
Me, personally i like Final Fantasy 8 a lot, so i think they should make one about that game. |

Uh oh, here comes the yelling, if nobody locks this.
Well, if a movie was to be made, I'd want it to actually follow the story of one of the games, rather it be a follow up (although a follow up would make it a little more open to the fights). I'd want to see FFVI made into a move, then probably IX, then IV then VII then X then VIII, then XII (in that order). |

I'm just gonna say that every final fantasy put to film has been utter garbage, but they keep putting them out cos the fanboys just haven't realized it. If there was anything right with world they would quit putting them out, or at least make one with a decent plot and not one that's just porn for the fanboys.

That's true, I think they need to sit their asses down and really think on how to make this movie. For the record though, A.C. wasn't all that bad considering it only started out as a 10 min. beauty fest of Cloud and Kadaj having a little fight, then when SOOOO many people loved it, they threw together a plot in a week and animated it. Considering that's how it went down, it's pretty good. And at least the music was good, but it's not like Uematsu can go wrong unless he tries. |

To answer the thread poster question, nothing. All the FF movies have been a disgrace to the fandom. It best if they just keep making epic FF games instead of making garbage fanservice.

That's true too, seeing how the movie they made a loooooong time ago [b]Final Fantasy: Spirits Within[b] did not get any good ratings at all. However, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children did a lot of improvement and did not make themselves embarassed in the movie business.
But as someone said on here, they need to sit down and actually think on what they going to do for there next project instead of just thinking of a plot point which i totally agree with. The whole drama thing kind of dragged out Final Fantasy VII. That could of also made this movie have some bad ratings. But you know everybody has their own opinion. |

I don't think any more Final Fantasy movies need to be made until the people making them learn how to tell a basic damn story. They don't have the slightest clue in how to properly develop a character, and they seem to fall under this ridiculous notion that a series of disconnected, contradictory, vague hints at something nobody is aware of that ultimately go unresolved make up a plot structure. They also seem to think that trippy camera movements hiding embarassingly stiff movement constitute a great fight sequence, when all it's doing is creating a hard to follow headache.
Spirits Within almost got there (had the basic elements, but presented them with all the vigor and passion of a bored Al Gore). Advent Children was two steps backward, lacking everything that makes a story function. It's embarassing, made even more embarassing by the fact that people eat it up and insist it's "high quality." |

Yeah your right Nagisa, you know really i don't even think i was paying attention to that movie(Final Fantasy VII), if you just watched the movie like i did, really there is not storyline except that the children with their infection and Cloud saves the world...end of movie
What! Cloud kills Sephiroth or however you spell it. But you know it didn't end no no no. Next they came out with Final Fantasy: The Dirge of Ceberus which they kept of course using the storyline up so that nobody is gonna want to like it anymore. |

I never saw Spirits Within, but I actually really really enjoyed Advent Children. I wasnt too impressed with it at first, since it has well, little to no plot, but really, the graphics impressed me, and sometimes when all you want is a mindless action flick, Advent Children fills the quota pretty well. Not every film out there has to be groundbreaking, sometimes its okay to just be entertaining.
Of course, Iv never played the games, so I really cant compair its quality to the quality of the games. As for another Final Fantasy movie, I agree that they should make a move based on the plot of the game, not just a follow up from the game. |

I saw both Spirits Within and Advent Children, and any more Final Fantasy movies would need to draw specific aspects from both of these titles to be successful.
I agree with Nagisa that Spirits Within came close to being good plot-wise. It had an actual story, characters with more than 1/16 of an inch of depth, and a few interesting turns along the way. Having said that, they could have done a lot more with it, and any future movie would build off of this framework and continue. Advent Children was good for one reason and one reason alone. The fight scenes were, bar none, the best I have ever seen. Beautiful is a great way to describe the elegance of many of the scenes, and a Final Fantasy movie would need to incorporate this aspect for everyone who likes shounen anime. BTW, in case it sounds like it I'm not a FF fanboy, in fact I've only ever played the first two on my Gameboy Advance a while ago (Red mages FTW!). However, I think drawing from the strength of the past two movies would create a solid third. ~ Isikari |

If Square-Enix does make another rendition of Final Fantasy I'd rather they make series instead of another movie, given the episodic nature of most of the games' stories (FF X-2, I'm lookin' at you). It'd probably be much easier to space out a story in at least a 13 ep. series rather than trying to cram everything in about 2 hours, especially if they actually wanted to shed some light on the other members of the party.
I suppose the existance of another adaptation would probably be up to the Enix side of the partnership, though, seeing as...well...they're making the better, non-rehashed properties out of the duo at the moment. |

You know, that's actually really great idea EngrishFan because if they made another movie, probably not gonna get a lot ratings, it would be better for them to make a series if they want to go in to television business. I mean i know what they are trying to get out of. They want to make something good out of something instead of just Final Fantasy games.
Make it happen man, take some time and think up a storyline with whole new designs and stuff!! |

Uh ... didn't the Final Fantasy Unlimited anime come out a few years back? It was made of such utter fail that it had to be cut down from a planned 52 episodes to 26. Instead of feature films or TV series, I'd rather see Square blow their budget on trying to design a FF game character that doesn't look like a hermaphrodite for once. A Kingdom Hearts screen feature might be interesting, if only for the novelty factor. |

Your right in some cases Patachu, I know that there is Final Fantasy Series that is already out. But this is a series they can show on TV. Not something that you can buy by yourself and just the watch the series, some people can't do that, they have to watch it from their satelite or cable you know what i mean.
But you are making a true statement. |
