Tsk tsk tsk tsk.

I am baffled. I find this OVA series to be God-awful. It's so kiddy it makes RiD's first dozen (pre-Deception/Combatron arc) episodes look more adult. It's Japan's Beast Wars 2.0.

Personally, I feel that ever since Galaxy Force ended the only good thing to have come out of the TF franchise was Activision's Cybertron games.

Nah. Oh it's bad alright, truly bad. But the Energon (Superlink) anime, still is the worst thing Transformers has ever done in its 30 years so far (although the Kiss Players manga, Revenge of the Fallen, and The Beast Within (look that one up Very Happy) are pretty damn close).

The Transformers in GO! are totally emotionless (how do you solve the problems of the cel-shaded CGI facial emotions that plagued Energon and Cybertron? By not having them at all. Of course!), and bland in that traditional Japanese anime for little kids way. The plot for both teams love to rip each other off and recycle themselves (how many times can they cut down Goradora?). The animation, while not bad is brought down due to the use of cel-shaded CGI on the Transformers themselves.

Despite that, I'd rather stomach through a handful of roughly 10 - 15 minutes episodes of GO! Then marathon 52, half-hour Energon episodes... or take the high road and read the More Then Meets the Eye (MTMTE), comic book written by James Roberts (seriously it's an awesome comic more deserving of ones time then GO! Very Happy).

Come on, man. Energon wasn't bad. But if you thought Energon was bad, you didn't watch the snore fest called Victory and the excruciating cheese of Japanese Beast Wars.

I can't help but feel the hate towards energon, in the west, is due to the main character being an angry kid. Same reason people hated Gundam SEED Destiny.

But nothing is worse than Bayformers, all 3 of them. And honestly, Animated's art style is a complete put-off. Doesn't matter how good the story was, the look of it was not worth sitting through episode after episode.

Animated was good, from what I remember of it.

People don't hate Energon because of Kicker, they hate Energon because the show ends well before the last episode.

I loved Animated, since it seemed to get better and better as time passed. Prime is pretty good as well. Better than Go.
