Wikipedia says, 'After three volumes released in the US, the manga was put on hold by ADV Manga, much to the chagrin of readers. At Otakon 2006, ADV suggested that the series may resume in the first quarter of 2007.'
In Japan volume 6 of Yotsubato! was released in December of 2006.

It's nice to know that we're not too far behind (only three volumes!). I was worried that the Japanese releases would be many more volumes ahead.

No wanter why I haven't seen a new volume. Why would ADV put it on hold?

ADV seems to put many manga on hold without ever finishing them. It's quite upsetting.

Here is an email I sent John Oppliger at Anime Nation in February of last year.
Brand wrote: | I really love Yotsuba&! which ADV released the first three volumes. I know
there is a fourth volume which at one time I could have sworn had a release
date, but now I can't find anything on it. When I went to the ADV website
the don't even list Yotsuba&!. I'm wondering what happened and are they
going to release the fourth volume? |
John Oppliger wrote: | I share your concern. I'm also a fan of Azumanga Daioh and Yotsubato. I've
bought the first three English translated manga volumes of Yotsuba, and was
looking forward to the fourth book as well. Your request prompted us to do
some investigation. Unfortunately, AD Vision does not have a fourth volume
of Yotsubato manga listed on their current publishing schedule.
AD Vision has canceled, or in their words "indefinitely delayed," the
release of many of their manga titles. In fact, AD Vision has not released a
single volume of manga so far this year, and has no manga volumes at all on
their release schedule for at least the next two months. |
