From Lance Heiskell on the AoD Forums:

Quote:
Looks like there is some confusion with our additional Navarre corporate sales staff in MN. We typically don't solicit shows till three to two months before street date. Anything beyond that is not official and most often subject to date and price change.

Sorry for any confusing posts/questions/rants this will bring up.

Navarre doesn't decide the releases, FUNimation does. We've been in meetings all this week to hammer out the release schedule for 2007. Looks like one of our home video sales managers sent an early, early, early beta version of the schedule.

Nothing is official on that page. YES it's on a Navarre website. I have two eyes.

How do we announce official news? From press releases and announcements from FUNimation.

Releases change, dates change, materials don't come on schedule.

That's why we only give our release schedule two to three months in advance.

To avoid headaches like this.

Suzuka was never been officially announced as an acquisition by...

Grammar Brigade, ASSEMBLE!

But yeah, anyways...

Shin-Chan, in the spring, awesome! Was Adult Swim ever planning to put that on their lineup? Because I heard it was very well received...

Well, I guess that's one of those C&D anime down with Suzuka announced. It's an all right series, good enough to justify buying it.

And Slayers is listed (tentatively) at $39.99 MSRP, which will make it pretty easy to pick up.

From Lance again:

Sorry for any confusion this provides.

Unless its a mini-set like Yu Yu Hakusho is currently being released, I would expect it to be more expensive. FUNI has to make money off this after all. If they are sticking with entire season sets, I would expect them to have an MSRP of at least $80 each, probably more.

Yeah, but FUNimation has stated before that their new releases for Slayers will be no more expensive than CPM's current pricing of the series which would actually be a bit less than that.

But it would be nice if FUNi did release Slayers season 1 on my birthday! And hopefully in a thinpak set. Smile

Damn! Still no announcement about Tsubasa!

**pulls hair and screams!**

Oh, well. Con season is coming up, maybe something will be announced at one of the big ones, hopefully I won't have to wait until Anime Expo rolls around.

YES!!! BECK!!! I saw excerpts from the first volume last year at OniCon. There's great music, great singing, and the overall feel is just so cool! Funi went to great pains to produce a top-notch dub; and from what I've seen and heard, they did a truly fantastic job. Very Happy
