1) Musoka - Suara - Utawarerumono
This is a very catchy song. The first time I heard it, I got addicted and played it nonstop for almost 2 hours. It sounds like a traditional Chinese song in a pop form. It fits very well with the anime's setting. 2) God knows... - Hirano Aya - The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Awesome guitar riffs, drumming, bass, and rhythm. Best singing voice from a Seiyuu. This is probably my favorite insert song. 3) STAY GOLD - Limelight - KIBA I love the voices in this song. They do such a awesome job on the harmony. It's kind of a upbeat type. 4) Enrai - Toku ni Aru Akari - HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR - Gundam SEED DESTINY Special This is like an alternate version of the song PRIDE which was the 2nd OP for the TV series. Even though its generic, its still an amazing song. It starts out a slow in the first 10 seconds then goes out with a bang throughout the entire song! 5) KIMI GA TAME - Suara - Utawarerumono This song makes its entrance at the final episode. It fits so well with the scene that it made me cry. The song is slow tempo yet very powerful tone. Listening to just the song without seeing the anime will make you feel relaxed. |

I only know one:
Sakura Kiss - Chieco Kawabe - Ouran High School Host Club It's a fun, peppy, upbeat opening theme that I am just crazy about. I love it so much I'm going to buy both the Ouran soundtack and the single. (though the single has to wait a bit). |

1. Koi no Mikuru Densetsu from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
It's so bad, it's good. I hated it at first, but oddly enough this intentionally terrible song grew on me to the point where I’m now in love with it. 2. Fushigi PuruPuru Plrin Rin from Welcome to the NHK Purupuru pururin, pururin! I love the midi version of it that Satou uses as his ringtone. If my own phone wasn't such an old piece of poop, I'd use it as my ringtone, too. Aside from its infectious beat, the lyrics are really funny, too. ("Little girls, for some mysterious reason, aren’t satisfied with only text messages" ) 3. Odoru Akachan Ningen from Welcome to the NHK Wow, a theme song that actually has some relevance to its anime? Now that's a rarity. And I love how manly the vocalist’s voice is for this song, it's very gar. 4. Tori no Shi from Air Just because it fits so perfectly with the mood of the series. 5. Hare Hare Yukai from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I ordered a pre-made Haruhi outfit from an online cosplay store, so I guess I'm going to have to learn the dance to this for next year's Kawaii Kon. |

That's Tori no Uta (詩 in kunyomi), not "Shi" (詩 in onyomi). |

I've posted my picks before but I put them in a list form and I barely discovered that those aren't very well liked on ANN. MY apologies.
Rock the LMC- LMC. From Red Garden. Who can't help but rock out to this song. I am no rock fan by any means but this ending theme makes me feel like the audience members from the ED animation (especially the lady that throws the waterbottle ). It really brings out the hope for the series that the girls will continue to fight and everything will be all right. Little Pain- OLIVIA. From NANA This song is just a very soothing piece that really captures the feel of what the two NANAs go through in every day life and what we youth go through. Season's Call- HYDE. From Blood+ I was never into the series but it sure did pick its opening and ending themes very well. Hyde's Season Call is my favorite, it really feels relaxing despite the hard rock music. Kimi e Mukau Hikari" by Arai Akino - Zegapain. This song is just one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Arai Akino just puts you into a cool calming sea whenever you hear her sing this song. Nightmare by SnOW. From Jigoku Shoujo Season 2. This song really just has the best lyrics I've heard in a long time. The words really make you feel like you're experiencing a sunset but at the sametime watching the night sky on a cool lonely night. And does Air even qualify? I think it debuted way back in January 2005. |

Oops, I guess it is a 2005 anime. Sorry, that's what I get for not checking the encyclopedia first. |

It's after Dec. 15th, but no tally has been taken, so... anyway, I'll just mention some that have been thus far omitted.
1: "Little Goodbye" by Rocky Chack - Zegapain ED Sometimes it's hard for me to split an emotional series with an excellent OP/ED sequence form the piece of music itself, but in this case, I think the song stands on its own power. I had never heard of Rocky Chack and I look forward to more from them. Zegapain is exceptionally lucky to have both an amazing opening and ending. 2: "Douwa Meikyuu" by Yukari Tamura - Otogi-Jushi Akazukin OP Admittedly, everything in the series is super cute. But the opening is even cuter than cute! Even without the cuteness, the synth work is quite interesting. Both endings and Shirayuki's insert, Jasmine Tear, are also good. 3: "Sajou no Yume" by Yuko Sasaki - The Third OP It's not "Pure Snow", but it's still quite nice. 4: "Starry Waltz" by kukui - Nishi no Yoki Majo OP I had no interest in the series until I saw the OP. I have not seen it; it may or may not be good... but the OP theme inspires a nice "flying" feeling. The vocals are not perfect, but they work well if you think of them as another instrument in an instrumental piece (like choral pieces). Honorable Mentions: "All Alone" by Shimamiya Eiko - released with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni OP single Interesting flow and complex melody. I like it more than the actual OP. And the instrumentals remind me of some Secret of Mana tracks. "Ashita no te" Noto Mamiko - Witchblade ED Single Short version - full has an ugly interlude (and is a little repetitious). "Crystal Energy" by Minami Kuribayashi - Mai Otome OP2 Great choreography, and decent song, but... the song does not stand alone. OP1 was also decent, but neither is as good as the Mai Hime OP. "Kirameku Namida wa Hoshi ni" by Sachi Tainaka - Fate/Stay Night OP2 Interesting instrumentals reminescent of System Shock, and powerful vocals. Much better than OP1 (the anime version). "Shin no Setsuri ni Idomu mono Tachi - Mawotatsu ken ha Imada Ore zu" by Masatoshi Ono - Demonbane TV (instrumental) Brilliant use of panflute. The ED is pretty good too, BTW. "Honto no Kimochi" by Kugimiya Rie - Zero no Tsukaima ED Single Not really good, but it highlights how cute her voice sounds in the role of Louise. "Anata ga Kureta Sora" by Kana Ueda - Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's SOUND STAGE 3 I like this purely for the vocals, and suggest it to anyone who enjoys her voice. |

Only 5 tracks? Darn, I was hoping to nominate the entire BLOOD+ OST 1 . It's after December 15th anyway, so it doesn't matter now.

Lost My Music Aya Hirano--Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu
Personally, I think this is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. I can't get enough of it. The tune's great, there's the face-melting guitar solo at the end, and Aya Hirano ROCKS when she sings this song. It's perfect. Being Kotoko--Shakugan no Shana I would nominate Hishoku no Sora, but it's been nominated twice already, and I don't want to ride the bandwagon. I'm a big fan of Kotoko anyway, and I thought this particular song was pretty damn good. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Eiko Shimamiya--Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. It was a good tune, and it went very well with the song. Eiko Shimamiya had the perfect voice for it. Hare Hare Yukai Aya Hirano--Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu It was well placed as the ending theme song of the show. Listening to it makes me happy for some reason. I guess that's only befitting of a song with a title that translates to "sunny sunny fun" though. Koi suru kokoro Eufonius--Kashimashi Girl meets Girl The song has a nice ring to it. I love the combination of techno beeps with violins. That Eufonius voice is just too cute. |
