I have found a typo in the last paragraph:
The stars stars Evangelion director Hideaki Anno...

If Ponyo made over $160,000,000 in Japan and Howl made $190,000,000 total and Ponyo made about $53,000,000(estimate) in 16 days about Howl made about $68,000,000(estimate) in that time and if Kaze Tachinu made about $43,000,000, we can assume this movie will make between $100-150 million after it finishes. But then again, my math hasn't been the best in over 15 years so, I might be wrong.
Hey Kutsu! How much did Mononoke and Arriety make in 15 days in Japan alone?

@YamadaKun :
Arrietty : ¥3,974,736,665
I don't have Mononoke's 16 day total, it dates too far back...but there's this if you're interested :
Quote: | Fastest to ¥10 billion
25 Days (Spirited Away)
31 Days (Ponyo)
33 Days (Howl's Moving Castle)
42 Days (Princess Mononoke) |
