One Piece's Going Merry Ship Gets Its Own TV Special
posted on 2013-06-17 12:05 EDT Episode of Merry: Mō Hitori no Nakama no Monogatari to have all-new animation Toei Animation announced on Monday that an all-new television anime special, One Piece Episode of Merry: Mō Hitori no Nakama no Monogatari (One Piece Episode of Merry: The Tale of One More Friend), will air on Saturday, August 24 at 9:00 p.m. (The One Piece television anime series normally airs on Sunday mornings.) The story arcs aboard the Straw Hat Crew's first ship Going Merry (Merry Go in some adaptations) are recreated with brand-new animation, from Luffy and Usopp's fight and Robin's disappearance to the crew's final farewell to the ship. Going Merry is treated as another member of the Straw Hats as Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and the rest of the crew set sail for the legendary treasure, the One Piece. The special will be airing almost exactly one year after the anime's previous One Piece Episode of Nami: Kōkaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna special aired in 2012. First off, using "feels" simply as a shorter version of "feelings" is an old usage - not as old as "learning" somebody, but even King George III got in on the act(and surely you can't get violent against the King's English). Second, I'm not so sure you can call it "using that word as short version of 'feelings'"; on the internet "feels" is almost always used to describe a particular group of feelings of that tend to leave one teary-eyed(thus implying something about their strength) and their grammatical usage differs heavily. CCharmanderK's post is a perfect example - you can't simply substitute "feelings"(let alone "emotions") into it without both losing some of the meaning and ending up with something unidiomatic. |

Huh, Another special.... why do I get the feeling that they're gonna keep doing these specials til they reanimate all of the parts fans would most likely make an uproar about wanting to see re animated?
Cop out? Care to elaborate? Because unless you're talking about the merry, honestly nothing really comes to mind... |
