I just stated watching the series and I have to say I'm fairly impressed with it. It has some funny material, and Haruhi Suzumiya reminds me of a girl that was in my class last year. She was a bit off and talked about anime every day.

You'll be more impressed. And more impressed. And pretty soon, Haruhism will claim your soul as well.

It got mine! *spreads the Word of Haruhiism*
I'm hoping they wait till Otakon to license the show. I'd be bummed to be cut off at the last episode (it'd air on the 2nd and AX goes from the 1st to the 4th) and have to pursue...alternate routes *prepares to enslave Japan*

The first episode almost threw me off of the series completely, because I didn't know what would come next. I've liked it as it's continued, especially how things like aliens, espers, and time travelers have been thrown at Kyon and he dosn't ever seem to be phased.

Well in that episode the cat kinda tipped me off that something was up but that was more of a "WTF???" moment at the time, I didn't expect more of it. But then the show was listed as sci-fi so I figured something was up

I lol-ed so much I almost rofl-ed, if that even makes sense.
Haruhi: Bring out the Gun***!
Me: WTH?
Kyon: *shocked/odd comment*
Pricelsss.
This might be stupid, but I have a question. Was that censor actually necessary, or simply intentional? I don't mind it, since I found it to be hilarious, but I'm simply asking out of curiosity.

I too was thrown off when I saw them playing what I thought was go. So I paused it and looked at the board and thought "wtf are they doing? They're terrible! They're not even following the rules! Kyon I can see... but cmon, Koizumi should probably be good..." I was a confused little monkey for a while, they had did such a good job I was surprised they'd made such a bad mistake with Go.
But... if they were playing 5-in-a-row, that makes a lot more sense Never thought about if people played it on a go board... heh, well I guess that's what the forums are for eh?

It is customary to censor trademarked/copyrighted things, but I think the HUUUUGE censor was intended mostly as a joke.

actually it's considered one of the worst mangas ever made. japanese otaku completely disavow knowledge of it's existence.

Since the first one was canceled (and yes, it is considered by many to have never existed, mainly because the art style and storytelling was too different from the novel), I assume he was refering to the newer version of the manga.

Is it on the same level as Deus Vitae, or is it even worse then that?
