No, for whatever reason, Maiden Japan was not provided with the dub. So the title will be sub-only.

A concise, rather good take on stuff like Terminator and Predator. Glad to see it getting back in print.

Very weird not to include a dub, even if it's old and likely terrible. That way, it can be viewed as a special feature instead of as an alternative audio option. Also willing to bet it's the same old early DVD master, no thanks.

I'm guessing either the dub was "lost" after all these years, or it was one if the rare cases where US Renditions/Manga kept ownership of the dub. It's also possible the license holders have some issue with it, and are refusing to allow it to be released again.

Actually, to be perfectly honest, the dub wasn't even all that bad. I re-watched this only just a few months ago, and was honestly surprised at how solid it was.

Granted, it's not PERFECT, but at least it was decent Animaze quality and not God-awful Manga UK junk.

Which makes this sub-only release even more confusing. Surely it couldn't have been THAT hard to come up with the dub masters.

It's been awhile since I've heard it but it's not terrible .it's not amazing or anything but I remember thinking it was pretty good. Justin reviewed it and the dub in his column too...and he really loved it.

How the hell weren't they able to get the Manga dub?

Guess it's time to put a latex cap on my little sister and tap the Make A Wish Foundation...

Aw man, this movie is awesome. A really well executed, concise, tense action flick.

Although, while I guess I'm still glad to see it back in print, it's pretty lame that it won't have the dub. What happened there?

Eh. Aside from a couple really bad bit characters its fine, at least for a show like this.

By the way ANN, this isn't a two part OVA. It's just one part.

Wow, didn't expect to see this mentioned in the news. I had to do a double take to see if what was written was true. I think Black Magic M-66 was under Manga's label. Ah my favorite Shirow flick, that takes me back to my HS days and would continue to groom me for more anime fandom. Glad to to see this oldie get a re-release so that those that have never seen it can give it a spin or pick it up. It's the only feature Shirow actually directed.

The master has been out of print for 10 years. That's why.

Plus the Manga dub VHS is pretty hard to find as well.

Since I ripped the dub off of Encore in 2005, Maiden Japan/ADV just got themselves customer.
