Somehow I just don't see anime making it onto this block. Since it's only purpose is to help stations cover their FCC requierments. I could see Sailor Moon possibly making it on, but only because it has it's "sailor Moon Says" segments at the end. Otherwise, i dunno, it's a big block, but I just have a feeling they aren't really going to be interested in ratings. Feels kinda like a throw-away block to me.

Anime or no, if The Legend of Zelda, The Super Mario Brothers Super Show, and Captain N show up on this, I will gladly shell out my money to subscribe to such a "network."

It's not really a "network." It's a programming block. So, in theory, there wouldn't be anything to subscribe to. (Unlike, say, The Anime Network which is on its own....it looks like DiC's 'network' will just be a block on other stations. You'd see the block on UPN, for example, instead of a channel called DiC.)

Yes, I got that. With my luck, though, it'll show up on a channel that I don't currently have on my service.

Um, dude, if you somehow *don't* get the DiC "programming" block on your network, consider it a blessing.

And among the titles you mentioned, only the Super Mario Bros. Super Show was produced by DiC. I think. Maybe. I'm pretty sure Captain N and such was produced by someone else, like Ruby-Spears or something.

As much as I would dearly love to see Cap'n Lou Albano in his Mario suit once again, I don't know if it would be worth the inevitable hour or so of crap like Braceface and Wishkid.

I remember Wish Kid, my brother used to watch it.

Oh the horror, THE HORROR.

Nothing good will come of this, mark my words, the new block will bring only evil!

So, this is what the FCC calls "core programming" now? Reruns of shows like Sabrina and The Archies? DiC is just trying to squeeze another buck out of their already worn-out programming library.

Not to sound absurd, but wouldn't it be more productive for stations to run three hours a week in PSAs?

No, no, no. DIC produced all 3 of the cartoons I mentioned. They just released some of the Super Mario and Zelda cartoons on DVD with Lions Gate Productions, too.

Aw, you didn't like good ol' Captain Lou Albano "doing the Mario," Ataru?...Yeah, that was pretty darn scary, actually. Some of the actual segments with Captain Lou and whoever-he-was as Mario and Luigi were pretty funny, though, and nobody did the voice-overs better for the characters.

The voice overs were great, but, it was that song. Crying or Very sad I hope Cap' Albano is still swinging his arms, side to side. Shocked
