Initial D fourth stage

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on when this might be comming out. My friend keeps talking about it, but I have no idea how he would know its actually being made. Mabye he is just a lunatic, but he could be right. Some vendor at Animethon, told a friend of mine that Initial D 4th stage will be in thetres in a few months, but my friend said 4th stage is the Project D era, they cant fit all that into a movie....Can they?

Well it's finished it's run in Japan and from what I've heard there's no plans to continue it.

It'll probably turn into one of those Ninja Scroll TV type deals, where Tokyopop puts up money for the Japanese company to make a 4th stage, but I really don't think TP is even going to break even on it the way they've butchered it. With no TV exposure they won't attract any of the rice boy cool G wanna be racers they are trying to target, and no true fans of the anime will buy it so don't hold your breath on that 4th stage. Crying or Very sad

Who was it that told you that there were no plans to continue it? I'm guessing not Shuichi Shigeno because he had every intention of animating the Project D story arc. He actually has stated that he was a bit embarassed about ending the 3rd Stage movie on such a cliffhanger.

Actually, screenshots have already been floating around. A guy on the Club4AG forums who's a fan of anime found a trailer on Dead Boys episode 14. http://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=42089

Take a look at them. It's the battle between Tooyu of Silver Star Leaf and Takumi.

The series was a huge cash cow in Japan, and has yet to spawn any imitators (though I'd kill for a Wangan Midnight anime and an Over Rev anime). There will be Fourth Stage, the question is when.
