My favorite singer...
Last time she took a hiatus, I basically left her alone and kept the nostalgia playing over my CD player.
Then I went to watch the first episode of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood as it played live on Japanese television.
I had my ears perked during the entire opening theme, thinking, "No way...!"
I think I'll pay more attention this time around. =P

Damn, she is extremely talented and I've always liked her music when I've come across it in an anime. I hope she enjoys whatever new direction she's going and will eventually do more anime stuff.

If this was anything like her hiatus from four years ago, I'm thinking she won't be gone long. Sounds as though she may be doing a little soul searching. I'm glad to hear that her next releases won't be affected by this. She doesn't need to worry about fans waiting on her because she's too good to not wait for as long as we must. "Ganbare, ganbare."

So her last hiatus was 6 months? I guess the Japanese music industry is Beatles level insanity where people put out multiple albums a year or something.
And here I was thinking she was going to be out of the game for years at a time like Justin Timberlake or something.

I hope she can find what she's looking for, but at the same time I really seriously hope the hiatus isn't too long. YUI is my favorite singer, I'm really sad about this news. Wishing her the best >-<

I hope she finds what she is seeking and enjoys what new thing she is trying. I really love her music. Some of the themes she does are my favorites!

If anything, I'm guessing she's trying to cultivate a new passion she has. I'm almost certain this is just a break, though, and not the end of her music career. After all, if she still enjoys making music, why would she quit?
I wish her the very best of luck with whatever her current pursuit is.

Yeah, she's not quitting. The rumor is that she is putting together a Death Metal band. I think a change in direction will really help her maintain her interest in music, and probably get her some new fans.
Always nice to see an artist try something new!
