Right? I want to invite myself over.

When's your next party, Ryan? Can I come?

It'll be like that one episode of Seinfeld where Elaine and Jerry go over to a friend's house and make her fall asleep so they can play with the toy collection.

Awesome collection this week. How about some numbers Ryan? I'm interested to see just how many books, dvds, figures etc make all that up.

Also just wanted to note that the color bar on the Children release is for perishable, rather than rental.

Well I dare say old chap, this Ryan fellow has caused quite the uproar. Mayhap we should wander down to his abode and have ourselves a gander at his collection of trinkets and novelties?

Oh my god. That collection is insane. I can't even comment on anything that's been reviewed this week, I'm just blown away by that collection (the framed Vampirella and Fathom prints make it even cooler). When can I move in?

Thats sorta the joke.

You bring the turkey, I'll bring the wine!
That place must be a pain to dust though. >__>;

I seriously thought Children Who Chase Lost Voices was Ghibli when I first saw movie posters of it.

Still not getting the appeal of Strike Witches.

Watched the first 5 or so episodes of MajiKoi and then it entered backlog hell. I was mainly watching it for Kamiya voicing Yamato and the first few episodes I saw weren't bad, perhaps even entertaining, but I was never highly motivated to continue.

1. Whatever. Alternate Earth. If there are jet pack legs, it's the future, dammit.

2. It's not really a "joke." Jokes are funny. The "joke" here is that these women don't wear pants, despite calling them such.

Except its explicitly not the future! The whole setting is based around World War II!

I thought the actual story of what was going on would be interesting... if only they told it. But, instead, we got small, random chunks of story, and no satisfactory conclusion. I guess I expected too much from it.

Also, the whole angle of, "Only young, virgin girls have power, and it goes away when they become adults." So cliche, so tiresome. :/

Holy crap, those shelves are impressive! Shocked Must've taken forever to get that much stuff!

Also, I really need to get around to watching Shinkai's stuff.

if it's any sub prize "spoiler[yohsika loses all of her powers at the end of the second season]"

I now the cliche is bit tiresome but It didn't stop me from liking the best character in the series "my opinion' mio sakamoto.

I am happy someone had a similar experience with children. It has been getting a lot of praise around. However I personally found it pretty vapid and plodding. The characters completely lacked personality which made all their adventures pretty dull. Not to mention that the adventures were a complete mash-up of influences without coherent linkage, he throws a lot of mythology around in this movie. I think it would of worked a lot better as a short film as per his usual. As a long feature it just doesn't have the requisite content. Nice to look at though.

Dare I say I actually enjoyed Strike Witches a whole lot more. Sure the entire lack of complete garments was just bizarre, but the series had a sense of fun despite that, and was surprisingly uncreepy for the most part. Wink

Oh man, I'd give Children Who Chase Lost Voices Shelf Worthy. It's easily my favorite work by Shinkai.
