What? He's writing the story, surely he has some idea.

More PMMM! Certainly looking forward to it.
I noticed that the movies have been described as "compilations" in the ANN encyclopedia. Does that basically mean that the movies are high-budget summary movies?

The first and second movies are compilations of the TV series, yes. The third one is supposed to be something entirely new.

The first two movies are a combination of existing footage, re-animated existing footage and brand new footage.
The third movie tells a brand-new story.

Nice. I suppose I'll pick up the movies then, even though I've watched the series twice.

Yeah, I'm gonna get sick of Madoka if this keeps up. At least Anno has the decency to space Evangelion out by a few years.

Then don't watch it. Problem [expletive] solved.
Personally, I want more of it now, and I find the wait for the EVA movies to be incredibly [expletive] irritating.

Well, I heard about a new manga coming up at some point. I wonder if that's what he's talking about, or maybe there's another season being planned.

Translation: "We got ourselves a cash cow, and we're gonna milk that sonovabitch as much as we can"
And I'll buy every minute of it. I am pleased of this news.

might as well have said it but personally i like this show so as long as the plot doesn't turn into utter crap, keep them coming.

You summed that up quite nicely.
In hindsight, Madoka is considered the magical girl version of Evangelion, so I guess this piece of news isn't that surprising. I am curious what they're going to do with franchise after the third movie is released.

The manga have all been spin-offs and the new one will be, too. Any future installments to the series have yet to be revealed.
Also, I'm going to see the second movie tonight. The events from the first movie actually made it up to the end of episode 8, so I'm predicting that this movie will have a few... expanded scenes. We'll see what happens. I'll report on it later. If it's anything like the first movie, I expect that my experience will be a bit different from when I watched the anime itself. The first movie was different enough in its portrayal of some scenes to do that.
