My top 3 are

1. 08th MS Team. It is the Vietnam story of Gundam and portrays the common soldier as just that with little to no glorification of the war.

2. First Gundam. This is the original and still holds up. Char is still the coolest Gundam character, and Amuro is still the quintiessential reluctant hero in which seemingly all mecha pilots since have been modeled after.

3. 0083: Stardust Memories. A story that screws with the timeline introduced in Zeta Gundam, the panoramic cockpit was supposedly featured on the Zeta Gundam first, but like 0080 you see a Gundam with a panoramic cockpit. The storytelling is strong and worthwhile.

Honorable mention: Gundam Wing. The first Gundam series I ever saw and holds a special place in my heart because of it.

Sure the panoramic cockpit was originally introduced (series-wise) with the Zeta Gundam but don't forget, the GP03 (as well as the GP01 and GP02) was top secret and swept under the rug after Operation Stardust in 0083 UC. So, technically, the GP03 was the first panoramic cockpit in the Gundam universe but the Zeta Gundam was the first official Gundam with a panoramic cockpit.

As for my favorite Gundam series....Zeta Gundam followed by Gundam SEED.

My favorite Gundam shows are:

1. Gundam 0079. The one that started it all. Char is one of the greatest anime characters of all time. Accept no imiatations.

2. G Gundam. The First Gundam show I ever saw. This is a breath of fresh air in the Gundam series and proves that not every Gundam show has to be UC to be good.

3. Turn A Gundam -- Best alternate universe. The Turn A itself looks great, I don't care what anyone says. Wonderful animation without a single recycled frame that I can see throughout the entire show. Great story, great characters, great character designs, great (and refreshingly original) mecha designs, great music... When Bandai finally releases this one over here, they'd better do the box set first approach like they're taking with Zeta.

2. First Gundam -- The original show, featuring one of the best Gundam casts ever. Sure, many of the characters appeared again in Zeta, ZZ, and Char's Counterattack, but it was just never quite the same as when they were all together on White Base, fighting to repel Ramba Ral, Char, members of the Newtype Corps, or whomever else. The music sounds pretty retro but to be honest, I actually find myself really getting into some of it while watching the show. And truthfully, the dated animation doesn't bother me a bit.

1. Victory Gundam -- It just narrowly edges out the original and Turn A for the top spot. Easily the darkest Gundam series to date (although SEED recently swiped its "most gruesome Gundam death" award), Victory features a body count that puts the famed Zeta to shame. Another of Gundam's best casts, this one introduces some of the youngest main characters of any Gundam show, then proceeds to kill off several of them. In addition to the great cast, this is another one with a great soundtrack, perhaps the best that Gundam has to offer, and some nice mecha designs (Victory 2 Gundam, anyone?). Overall, just the most enjoyable Gundam series for me.

Honorable Mention: G Gundam, Gundam 0080
The Worst: 3. Gundam ZZ, 2. Gundam 0083, 1. Gundam Wing

MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam didn't appear until almost halfway through the series. Prior to that, a large number of other mobile suits (including RX-178 Gundam Mk. II, RMS-099 Rick Dias, MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki, and a ton of Titans mobile suits) also featured panoramic displays. So the Zeta Gundam was not even the first "official" Gundam, much less the first one in Universal Century history. The GP series was not the first to do so, either. The first panoramic cockpit appeared in the RX-78NT1 Gundam Alex, which was developed in late UC 0079 as the One Year War was winding down.

1. Hands down my favoirte Gundam series is Gundam Wing. I love that series. It has an in depth story line, interesting characters, and excellent animation.

2. 08th MS Team comes in a close second. It has again a quality story line (a must for me), believable characters, and looks at war from the soldiers perspective.

3. 0079-The Original Gundam. One of the all time greats of anime. I loved the series...just didn't like Amuro. He just got on my nerves for wanting things to go his way all the time (granted he did mature throughout the series and towards the end he did not irritate me...as muuch).

Since I'm at it and just was looking at my Gundam collectoin...I want to add that my least favorite is G-Saviour. A great premis, just poorly done.

1. SEED
2. 0083
3. Wing/Endless Waltz
4. 08th MS Team
5. Zeta

Seen more of the new school ones than the old school so I'm more biased towards the newer shows.

Numero Uno has to go to 0083. I just loved the mecha and the characters weren't too bad (Gato is the sh**!)

08th MS Team would be #2, I really liked the jungle setting, although I think the Characters could use a bit more work.

Distant 3rd is 0080, I loved the Kampfer

As far as worst of the Gundam, I would have to say the first one. Before you all start crying bloody murder, I only disliked the TV series. The movies were pretty good, though.

On a side note, The more and more I read about Seed, the more it looks like it might actually be cool. Well, I guess we'll all find out in '04 when CN (possibly?) runs it.

2. 0083

3. Zeta Gundam

The worst Gundam to me was 0080, I laughed thru the entire thing, not something you are supposed to do with gundam...

Best
1. Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack
2. Mobile Suit Gundam 0083
3. Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team
4. Mobile Suit Gundam: The Movie Trilogy
5. Mobile Suit Gundam 0080

Worst
1. Gundam Wing - Aside from being "Gundam meets Backstreet Boys", Relena killed the series all by herself.
2. Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz - The animation is beautiful and all, but there's absolutely no story.
3. Mobile Fighter G-Gundam - Worst Gundam designs ever.

Since it was one of the first anime series I watched, Gundam X is my favorite Gundam series. Although it took place in an alternate universe, Gundam X was kind-of a "what-if" scenario where the colonies were crashed into Earth. The character development was great as the series revealed all the characters' pasts bit by bit. The soundtrack was also amazing, and it was one of the few TV series that I remember that had a completely orchestrated score.

I know this may seem like an odd question, but...

Do you come from the Phillipines, by chance, ShatteredX?
