The first big question that's on everyone's mind: does anything even get that channel, let alone FUNi's dedicated channel? There's no way I'm paying for individual channels, and FUNi is in a top tier plan that most other useful channels aren't.

You can get it, you just have to know it's there and already have one of those digital TV plans. So yeah, if basic premium cable like HBO is beyond the grasp of the majority, this and Al Gore's Current TV might as well be subscription based webcasts, but even more elusive than that.
It's nice that anime's expanding, but I don't see this is a huge deal. If Toonami said it were starting even just an hour earlier at 11PM, that would easily trump this in terms of "big deal"ness.

DGM??? Yes! It's on TV like how funi wanted in the first place, meaning there is hope for the rest to get finished.

Well this sucks in some ways. Some of these shows i could see being good for toonami such as Aquarion and Kenichi.
Also what is this station LOL. No seriously never heard of it.

I've heard of it, but I've never watched it. I guess I'll be checking into it now!

If I was still at home with DirecTv, I'd be able to check this out.
EDIT: In the press release, ShortsHD called the anime acquired "short movies". This does not give me much hope for this business deal.

I have DirecTV, but not DirecTV HD which is what you need for this. Ah, so close yet so far...

Good stuff. Maybe this channel will eventually pick up steam and get on basic cable packages like turner classic movies or something.

I highly doubt that. You'd be more likely to see DIY or Cooking placed onto basic cable packages first. This is one that even those with digital cable never heard one.

I have Dish Network, but I need Dish Platinum to get it. So not worth the money.
