I'm glad that this is at a lower price point of $49.98. The original OVA set cost $119.98 and was released Jan 28, 2003
Hopefully they'll rerelease the TV season boxsets with lower prices as well. |

Exactly what I was going to say. I've been wanting to check out the Ranma 1/1 anime for a while now (especially the OVAs), but most of the box sets are hard to find (especially for less than $100.) I can foresee the TV series coming out cheaper someday soon... |

Wow, I didn't expect this considering that the OAV set's already been out for 2 years. And only $50!? Nice, I like it. Though I'm curious as to why they doing it, not that I'm complaining.

*ponder* I swear that it came out earlier than that. IIRC, the OAV box set was released BEFORE any of the season boxsets. Looking on animeondvd's info, it came out in 2000. |

Yep. We only list the original release date and not re-issue dates, which is what the 2003 release was. If they make changes to the release beyond price or new cover artwork, we add it in as a new listing. Otherwise the listings would be swamped with all the CPM price-downs and Geneon's Signature Series re-releases were just the same as the originals but with a new logo on it. |

Ahh.. I didn't realize there was a reissue. I just remember wanting the set and wondering why the seasons weren't in boxsets. |

The only season not available only as a boxset is season 7. You can both buy the singles and the boxset for it on Viz's website. Yeah, they're out NOW. (And I own most of them) But they weren't out in 2000 when the OAV set came out, which is what I was talking about. |
