According to this month's Shonen Jump, there's a feature on the Black Cat anime where they say they're bringing it over to America, and there was a "Shonen Jump's Black Cat" logo in there...
Awkward...

So what does this have to do with VIZ? Other companies license Shonen Jump stuff. Both DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho ran in their and FUNimation has both.

The article itself is just VERY misleading. What they are bringing over to america is the manga, not the anime. It was confusing because the article was about the anime, and they worded "the we're bringing it to america" part badly. It was odd that they would show an article about the anime, when the magazine has never said a word about the manga.

maybe they're hoping to get the anime, too, especially if it looks like the manga could get popular enough in the US.

FUNimation doesn't call their Shonen Jump shows "Shonen Jump's ___", though.
And 4Kids getting Black Cat? Pfft. Yeah right.
Really, those two and Viz are the only three companies I can think of who are active in the whole "HAY LOOK ITZ SHONEN JUMP".
