They have come a long way. I mean I think they were around a lot longer than you think. Now they are getting into everything. From selling anime goods to doing domestic fansubs. That's a big step and they are still going strong.

Fansubs ?
TRSI doesn't release fansubs. The DVDs put out by TRSI are professional, commercial products with subs and dubs.

HUH???? Ooops, my-bad.
Now how the hell did I end up writing that?
ARRRGH!!! I meant to say selling anime goods to doing domestic DVD releases.
Thanks Tempest on that note.

Now if only they would have their free shipping take less than a month.
I only buy from them because of their discount...their actual service is horid (I say this from the experience of ordering a few hundred dollars worth of manga from them).
A pre-order does NOT mean you have it shipped out when it is released. They had the audacity to put an 'out of stock' flag up on one of my pre-ordered items.

Yea, I have had many problems preordering manga from them, and often times they will keep my status on "We're working on it!" when it says instock on the webpage and you have to email them to fix your order, I order from amazon now... However they are great with DVDs, if I preorder I can sometimes get it before the release date and the shipping style keeps the dvd boxes safe.

A coherent, well-written, and from the looks of it, well-informed article on something related to anime? Amazing.

Yeah, those things don't come around too often. I haven't ordered that much from TRSI, but I didn't haven't found too many problems yet. The economy shipping only took seven days eactly.

I've used Right Stuf a ton of times, and I've never had any problems with them at all. The economy shipping has gotten stuff to me within a week every time (unless there were out of stock items), even with my brutal $500 order about 2 months back.
I just wish their print catalog was like it used to be in the mid-to-late-90s, where the item descriptions were more thorough, and included both plot descriptions and a bit of opinion on the shows as well. The catalog was so good that the Laser Disc Fan Club's anime catalog would lift huge portions of the catalog.

Well, that depends on where you live. I live in Minnesota, so their free shipping is pretty quick. However, I'm also willing to wait a little longer if it will save me a few bucks. I mean, it's not like I need that next volume of [insert anime series here] by next week or my head will explode.

Manga's a pain. I have yet to find any place that's perfect in their delivery. The local comic shop offers to hold the titles one wants(full price), but they often miss stuff(Been getting Saiyuki. Somehow they never set aside Saiyuki 9, but I do have Reload already). Right Stuf is cheap &, by the end of a large order, they're pretty much on time(received the last of the manga I ordered at their last big Viz Sale pretty much shipped on the release date), but titles get rescheduled(Still have an order from the prior Viz sale open because I ordered Zatch Bell 1 when the manga was going to ship much earlier this year. I think Target in the Finder has rescheduled a couple times since I ordered it. And I've had stuf I've pre-ordered cancelled by trhe manufacturer(First King Vol 3 now has a 12/12/12 ship date as does the Shaman King DVDs I ordered, but that's not their fault.)
On the other hand, when I checked my orders tonight, GetBackers 8 & InuYasha 32 (both street date 8/9) have shipped. Overall, I like their service. Certain companies(ADV, MediaBlasters) often ship early as long as you've ordered them early enough. Their own titles I've received as much as a month early if I pre-ordered them as soon as they're posted(as with a couple volumes of Gravitation & Comic Party). Other companies such as Pioneer (or is it Bandai?) don't seem to ship until the street date.

I find them quick and cheap. I also like how, if you preorder one of their releases, you get it early. I got my Boogiepop and Others DVD about a month before the posted release date.

RightStuf is utterly useless unless you're buying something on sale, besides then, they're entirely overpriced, even moreso than the overpriced Amazon.com, when it comes to anime.

If I use my Got Anime membership with my site's affiliate account, it's not bad.
