It seems Geneon is taking a lesson from ADV. They are re-releasing Chobits (all 27 episodes - 675 minutes), Mahoromatic Automatic Maiden (both seasons and the summer special - 675 minutes) in thinpak sets with a reasonable price too at $99.98 SRP.

Also, they are releasing a complete boxset of Last Exile (not thinpak) and price unknown.

Just check AnimeOnDVD.com for the newly announced releases (and this website once they get around to posting it)

Oh, Wow! Not that I am interested in seeing CCS anyway, and I've never seen it in the first place.

Even though I already have all of the region 1 dvds, I'm still going to pick this up. I must collect the series again. Wink

Now that makes me insanely happy and hopeful for some of the other stuff to come out in the future. Since I only have one or two of the DVD's, this box set is very much welcomed. Smile

That, and I like thinpaks for the space it saves.

Hell yeah! It's better than finding and buying all 18 volumes of the series of which I found extremely difficult.

It's one of the few series I could careless about having a dub track (though the second movie was a good payoff). Very Happy

Man, I have been sitting on the fence over Mahoromantic for a looong time. This could be the nudge I needed to once again surrender to the fighting android maid genre.

Any idea if this will be any different (besides price Smile) then current available collecter's box + dvds?

Wish they'd sell the boxes alone and not with the DVD. A few titles I have I bought without knowing of or seeing the artbox. As much as I'd like the box I can't justify purchasing another DVD for it.

That's good, maybe they'll finally get around to releasing Ai Yori Aoshi in some type of a collection format sometime. I just got into the manga and wouldn't mind seeing the anime incarnation as well.

I just finally picked up the 3 random missing DVDs in my CCS collection last month... I'd say it's irony, but I wouldn't have bought the first half instead... unless you know... it was insanely cheaper than just these 3... which then I will pout/complain about for 5 minutes and then forget about if it turns out that way.

But 'yay!' to Last Exile box set... I was waiting on that... although I did record it off TechTV when there was that marathon to see if I liked it... and haven't watched it yet.... perhaps I should do that first... if I can find the tapes...

And I've been thinking about Chobits, but I dunno. I'm still indecisive about it. Maybe if I find a good deal on it somewhere, I'll try it.

If the Chobits thinpaks have the extras I'll grab them... Otherwise I'd rather have the pretty original boxes. u_u; That's one series I enjoyed and do want to get on DVD eventually..

So i'm guessing title that are getting regular boxset like Gungrave and Paranoia agent won't be thinpak for cheaper.
